Nocapyrones A−D, γ-Pyrones from aNocardiopsisStrain Isolated from the Marine SpongeHalichondria panicea [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Four new γ-pyrones, nocapyrones A−D (1−4), were isolated from an organic extract of the Nocardiopsis strain HB383, which was isolated from the marine sponge Halichondria panicea. These are the first γ-pyrones reported from a Nocardiopsis strain.

Tricarbonyl(η6-flavone)chromium(0)

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2009
In the title compound, [Cr(C15H10O2)(CO)3], the Cr(CO)3 unit exhibits a three-legged piano-stool conformation. The chromium metal centre is coordinated by the phenyl ring of the flavone ligand [Cr—(phenyl centroid) distance = 1.709 (1)

Structure determination of a 4-pyrone from the liverwort Plagiochila bifaria (Sw.) Lindenb. (Plagiochilaceae) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The centenary of the presentation in 1907 of the "polyketide" hypothesis by Collie, along with his use of a 4-pyrone as an example, is marked by reporting the discovery and isolation of 2-(3,4-dimethoxyphenethyl)-6-methyl-4-pyrone from <i> ...

Convergent Total Synthesis of 16β‐Hydroxylpseudobufarenogin

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
We present a novel convergent strategy that integrates Pd/Ag‐promoted Suzuki–Miyaura coupling with Ir‐catalyzed radical‐relay cyclization, enabling the first total synthesis of 16β‐hydroxylpseudobufarenogin. This approach is broadly applicable to the total synthesis of various oxygenated bufadienolides by simply modifying the fragment structures ...

Bioactive Alpha-Pyrone and Phenolic Glucosides from the Marine-Derived Metarhizium sp. P2100

open access: yesJournal of Fungi, 2022
Glycoside compounds have attracted great interest due to their remarkable and multifarious bioactivities. In this study, four hitherto unknown 4-methoxy-β-D-glucosyl derivatives were obtained and identified from the marine-derived fungus Metarhizium sp ...

Harnessing Photoenzymatic Systems for Intermolecular C-H Fluorination. [PDF]

open access: yesAngew Chem Int Ed Engl
Despite the remarkable versatility of enzymes for catalyzing complex organic transformations under mild aqueous conditions, no biocatalytic system has been reported for intermolecular C–H fluorination. A radical photoenzymatic approach is introduced that leverages a designed de novo protein scaffold with an unnatural amino acid to achieve precise ...

Degradation of Chloroaromatics: Purification and Characterization of a Novel Type of Chlorocatechol 2,3-Dioxygenase of Pseudomonas putida GJ31 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
A purification procedure for a new kind of extradiol dioxygenase, termed chlorocatechol 2,3-dioxygenase, that converts 3-chlorocatechol productively was developed.

From Zn to Mn: the study of novel manganese-binding groups in the search for new drugs against tuberculosis. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In most eubacteria, apicomplexans, and most plants, including the causal agents for diseases such as malaria, leprosy, and tuberculosis, the methylerythritol phosphate pathway is the route for the biosynthesis of the C(5) precursors to the essential ...
