(2‐Phosphinophenyl)aluminum Dichloride Complexes as Intramolecular Al/P Frustrated Lewis Pairs for Ketone, Ester, and Imine Activation

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Three 2‐phosphinophenylaluminum dichloride complexes were synthesized and characterized as novel intramolecular FLPs. These FLP systems exhibit high Lewis acidity and effectively activate challenging substrates including aliphatic ketones, imines, and esters. DFT analysis revealed that strain release and Al–P dynamics govern their reactivity. Abstract (

3-Benzyl-2H-chromen-2-one

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2012
The title compound, C16H12O2, is a coumarin which was isolated from stones of the Chinese traditional medicine Clausena lansium. The pyrone ring is almost planar, with a mean deviation of 0.0135 (4) Å. The benzene ring (A) of

Manganese(I)-Catalyzed C−H Activation : The Key Role of a 7-Membered Manganacycle in H-Transfer and Reductive Elimination [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Manganese-catalyzed C−H bond activation chemistry is emerging as a powerful and complementary method for molecular functionalization. A highly reactive seven-membered MnIintermediate is detected and characterized that is effective for H-transfer or ...

Push–Pull Ynamines and Push–Pull Ynamides: Synthesis, Structure, Reactivity, and Application

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Push–pull ynamines and push–pull ynamides, which carry an EWG and an amino or amido group as EDG, are highly interesting classes of EDG‐EWG alkynes that have been intensively studied due to their exceptional reactivity. In this review, the synthesis, structure, reactivity, and application of push–pull ynamines, push–pull ynecarbamates, push–pull ...

A novel and widespread class of ketosynthase is responsible for the head-to-head condensation of two acyl moieties in bacterial pyrone biosynthesis

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2015
The biosynthesis of photopyrones, novel quorum sensing signals in Photorhabdus, has been studied by heterologous expression of the photopyrone synthase PpyS catalyzing the head-to-head condensation of two acyl moieties.

Engineering an Acyl‐CoA Ligase With Enhanced Activity Toward Synthetic CoA Alternatives

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 27, Issue 10, 27 May 2026.
Engineering an acyl‐CoA ligase shifts thiol specificity toward inexpensive synthetic thiols such as N‐acetylcysteamine (SNAC), enabling enzymatic generation of acyl‐SNAC starter units that support polyketide biosynthesis. Fatty acyl‐coenzyme A (CoA) thioesters are indispensable intermediates in primary metabolism and essential building blocks for ...

Modulation of neural cell membrane conductance by the herbal anxiolytic and antiepileptic drug aswal [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
To evaluate the effects of aswal on ionic fluxes and neuronal excitation, we performed extracellular and whole cell patch clamp recordings on CA1 pyramidal neurons of guinea pigs and Long-Evans rats.

Telomere‐to‐Telomere Genomes Reveal that Multiscale Evolution Shapes the Largest Metabolic Arsenal of Diaporthe Fungi

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 27, 13 May 2026.
This study presents the first telomere‐to‐telomere genomes and population resources for Diaporthe pathogens, uncovering the largest known fungal repertoire of secondary metabolite gene clusters. Structural variations and horizontal gene transfer drive cluster diversification, while specific rapidly evolving clusters control virulence, offering novel ...
