Characterization of aromaticity in analogues of titan's atmospheric aerosols with two-step laser desorption ionization mass spectrometry

open access: yes, 2016
The role of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) and Nitrogen containing PAH (PANH) as intermediates of aerosol production in the atmosphere of Titan has been a subject of controversy for a long time.

Azirinyl-Substituted Nitrile Oxides: Generation and Use in the Synthesis of Isoxazole Containing Heterocyclic Hybrids

open access: yesMolecules
The procedure for the generation of azirinyl-substituted nitrile oxides by the reaction of 2-(diazoacetyl)-2H-azirines with tert-butyl nitrite while preserving the azirine ring has been developed.

Spatial separation of pyrrole and pyrrole-water clusters [PDF]

open access: yesChemical Physics Letters, 2019
We demonstrate the spatial separation of pyrrole and pyrrole(H$_2$O) clusters from the other atomic and molecular species in a supersonically-expanded beam of pyrrole and traces of water seeded in high-pressure helium gas. The experimental results are quantitatively supported by simulations.

The odour of white bread [PDF]

open access: yes, 1973
Volatile constituents of white bread were investigated. Different methods were used for isolating and concentrating components to avoid artefacts as far as possible. Especially good was enlarged vapour analysis.

Deproto-metallation of N-arylated pyrroles and indoles using a mixed lithium–zinc base and regioselectivity-computed CH acidity relationship

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2015
The synthesis of N-arylated pyrroles and indoles is documented, as well as their functionalization by deprotonative metallation using the base in situ prepared from LiTMP and ZnCl2·TMEDA (1/3 equiv).

Synthesis of formyl-thienylpyrroles : versatile building blocks for NLO materials [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Several formyl-substituted 1-alkyl(aryl)-2-(2´-thienyl)pyrroles 3-7 were synthesized by functionalization of the pyrrole or thiophene ring of thienylpyrroles 2 using different methods: Vilsmeier formylation or metalation followed by reaction with DMF ...

Carbohydrate-auxiliary assisted preparation of enantiopure 1,2-oxazine derivatives and aminopolyols

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2012
An approach to enantiopure hydroxylated 2H-1,2-oxazine derivatives is presented utilizing the [3 + 3] cyclisation of lithiated alkoxyallenes and an L-erythrose-derived N-glycosyl nitrone as precursors.
