Cascade PID controller for quadrotor

2016 IEEE International Conference on Information and Automation (ICIA), 2016
Aiming at the attitude stabilization and angle tracking control of quadrotor aircraft, an optimized cascade double-loop PI-PID controller is proposed. It is based on strong coupling and nonlinear dynamic model in this paper. A PI controller acts as an outer loop controller, which controls primary physical parameter, namely the attitude.

Formation Task in a Group of Quadrotors

2015
The paper is dedicated to a formation task in a group of quadrotors. It contains a brief analysis of existing methods for the formation task. The authors also propose a new method for solving the formation task, which make it possible to ensure accurate compliance with distances between quadrotors in the formation, as well as featuring low ...

A Review of Control Algorithms for Quadrotor

2018 IEEE International Conference on Information and Automation (ICIA), 2018
The unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is subject to various disturbances during the flight, such as the noise and drift of the sensor, strong wind and turbulence, and model variation caused by the excessive inclination. These would seriously affect the flight quality of the aircraft, so UAV control technology is particularly important. The quadrotor UAV is

Trajectory Tracking for a Commercial Quadrotor

2019 6th International Conference on Control, Decision and Information Technologies (CoDIT), 2019
In this paper we propose a nonlinear control law to achieve trajectory tracking in the 3D space for a commercial Bebop 2 quadrotor. The proposed control law is based on a nonlinear time varying version of the Backstepping technique, which includes an integral gain for disturbance rejection and that takes into account the dynamics of the internal ...

Design and Modeling of Unconventional Quadrotors

2020 28th Mediterranean Conference on Control and Automation (MED), 2020
In this paper, we propose a new design of unconventional quadrotors with simple mechanisms. They are able to change the orientation and the length of their arms independently thanks to their adaptive morphologies, these quadrotors can be used for specific missions and in more congested spaces.

Backstepping Control for a Quadrotor Helicopter

2006 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems, 2006
This paper presents a nonlinear dynamic model for a quadrotor helicopter in a form suited for backstepping control design. Due to the under-actuated property of quadrotor helicopter, the controller can set the helicopter track three Cartesian positions (x, y, z) and the yaw angle to their desired values and stabilize the pitch and roll angles.

Cooperative Load Transportation with Quadrotors

2019 IEEE International Conference on Autonomous Robot Systems and Competitions (ICARSC), 2019
This paper presents a methodology for cooperative load transportation with two quadrotors, given the state variables estimates, based on measurements from motion sensors installed on-board. The proposed controllers and estimators resort to optimal control techniques, namely, Linear Quadractic Regulators (LQRs) and Kalman filters, respectively.

A self-recovery mechanism for quadrotors

2014 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Biomimetics (ROBIO 2014), 2014
Flying robots have many applications in constrained environments. But they are facing difficulties when they cannot take off again without human intervention if they are not in upright position after a fall. This paper presents a method to design a self-recovery mechanism for the quadrotor to protect itself and recover autonomously after accidental ...

Marionette show using quadrotors

Proceedings of the ACM SIGGRAPH / Eurographics Symposium on Computer Animation, 2017
A marionette show is a play with the puppet controlled from above using wires by human. One ends of the wires are connected on different joints of the marionette, and the other ends are tied on a control stick. The marionettist makes the puppet move by elaborately manipulating the control stick.

Quantitative feedback control of a quadrotor

2012 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics, 2012
In this paper, the frequency domain models with parameter uncertainties for quadrotor were derived by analyzing the rigid body dynamics and aerodynamic forces/moments acting on the quadrotor. Based on these models, the controllers and pre-filters for automatic control of quadrotor were designed using quantitative feedback theory (QFT).
