We developed a series of quinoxalinoquinoxaline (QQ) photosensitizers featuring high and tunable excited‐state reduction potentials (E(PC•+/PC*) = –1.76 to –2.05 V vs. SCE). Their hydrogen‐bonding interaction with carbonyl substrates enables selective single‐electron transfer events for selective nitrilization of 1° amides, offering a tunable ...

Synthetic strategies for 5- and 6-membered ring azaheterocycles facilitated by iminyl radicals [PDF]
The author thanks EaStCHEM for financial support. The totality of chemical space is so immense that only a small fraction can ever be explored. Computational searching has indicated that bioactivity is associated with a comparatively small number of ring ...

Quinoxaline derivatives as new inhibitors of coxsackievirus B5 [PDF]
Enteroviruses are among the most common and important human pathogens for which there are no specific antiviral agents approved by the US Food and Drug Administration so far. Particularly, coxsackievirus infections have a worldwide distribution and can cause many important diseases. We here report the synthesis of new 14 quinoxaline derivatives and the

Effects of an Unusual Poison Identify a Lifespan Role for Topoisomerase 2 in Saccharomyces Cerevisiae [PDF]
A progressive loss of genome maintenance has been implicated as both a cause and consequence of aging. Here we present evidence supporting the hypothesis that an age-associated decay in genome maintenance promotes aging in Saccharomyces cerevisiae (yeast)

Photochemistry of Aromatic N‐Oxides in Water Probed by Time‐Resolved X‐ray Absorption Spectroscopy
Time‐resolved XAS at the nitrogen and oxygen K‐edges is applied to the photorearrangement of two N‐oxides in water. Pyridine N‐oxide rapidly forms the oxaziridine isomer. Pyridazine N‐oxide undergoes ring opening to the diazo compound, without any evidence of intermediates.
