Bradykinin-induced burst of prostaglandin formation in osteoblasts is mediated via B2 bradykinin receptors

open access: yesJournal of Bone and Mineral Research, 1991
AbstractThe receptor subtype mediating the bradykinin (Bk)-induced burst of prostaglandin formation in osteoblasts has been studied. Bk, but not des-Arg9-Bk, induced the formation of prostaglandin E2 and prostacyclin in neonatal mouse calvarial bones incubated for 30 minutes.

Neurochemical mechanism of muscular pain: Insight from the study on delayed onset muscle soreness

open access: yesJournal of Physiological Sciences
We reviewed fundamental studies on muscular pain, encompassing the characteristics of primary afferent fibers and neurons, spinal and thalamic projections, several muscular pain models, and possible neurochemical mechanisms of muscle pain.

Kinin B1- and B2-Receptor Subtypes Contract Isolated Bovine Ciliary Muscle: Their Role in Ocular Lens Function and Intraocular Pressure Reduction

open access: yesPharmaceuticals
Background: Bradykinin is an endogenously produced nonapeptide with many physiological and pathological functions that are mediated by two pharmacologically defined receptor subtypes, B1- and B2-receptors.

Plasma extravasation mediated by lipopolysaccharide-induction of kinin B1 receptors in rat tissues

open access: yesMediators of Inflammation, 2001
The present study was performed to: (a) evaluate the effects of kinin B1 (Sar{D-Phe8}-des-Arg9-BK; 10 nmol/kg) and B2 (bradykinin (BK); 10 nmol/kg) receptor agonists on plasma extravasation in selected rat tissues; (b) determine the contribution of a ...

Renin-angiotensin and kallikrein-kinin systems in diabetic retinopathy [PDF]

open access: yesScripta Medica, 2019
This brief review describes how two complex systems, the renin-angiotensin system (RAS) and the kallikrein-kinin system (KKS), affect the retina.
