Intravenous lanadelumab for the treatment of moderately ill COVID‐19 patients
Aims Kallikrein‐kinin system (KKS) dysregulation is hypothesized to play a pathogenetic role in COVID‐19‐associated pulmonary oedema. To investigate the efficacy and safety of intravenous lanadelumab, a monoclonal antibody that inhibits plasma kallikrein, in COVID‐19, we conducted a phase 2, open‐label, randomized‐controlled, proof‐of‐concept ...

Activity of Bradykinin B2 Receptor Is Regulated by Long-Chain Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids. [PDF]
The molecular and cellular mechanisms by which long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LCPUFA) exert their beneficial effects on cardiovascular health remain obscure.

Pest control is a global challenge for agriculture and biodiversity conservation, with the use of existing vertebrate pesticides increasingly constrained by regulatory, environmental, and social pressures. There is an urgent need for safer and more species‐selective toxicants, but the development of novel vertebrate pesticides remains technically ...

Immunohistochemical Localization of the Bradykinin B1 and B2 Receptors in Human Nasal Mucosa
Bradykinin (BK) has been tobe thought a potent mediator involved in allergic rhinitis because BK was recovered from the nasal lavage fluid of allergic rhinitis patients after allergen provocation and BK receptor antagonists relief nasal allergic symptoms.

GRKs and arrestins: Nomenclature and functions in GPCR‐dependent and ‐independent signalling
G protein‐coupled receptor (GPCR) kinases (GRKs) and arrestins play a critical role in the regulation of GPCR signalling. Historic names of mammalian GRKs were replaced by systematic ones in the 1990s; however, both kinds of names are currently in use for mammalian arrestins.

Background While it is well known that bradykinin B2 agonists increase plasma protein extravasation (PPE) in brain tumors, the bradykinin B1 agonists tested thus far are unable to produce this effect.

Loss of Striatal Bradykinin B2 Receptor Alters Anxiety and Motivational Behaviors in Male Mice
Impaired signaling of the bradykinin B2 receptor (B2R) in dorsal striatal neurons decreases anxiety‐like behavior and sucrose preference while enhancing voluntary running in mice. These results reveal a novel role for B2R in dopaminergic circuits that modulate motivation and emotional behavior.

Delivery of Pleckstrin‐Homology Domains Suppresses PI3K/Akt Signaling and Breast Cancer Metastasis
Current therapies curb tumor growth but not metastasis. Obscurin, a giant metastasis suppressor lost in breast cancer, restrains PI3K/Akt signaling but is impractical to restore. We deploy a mini‐obscurin, comprising the obscurin‐PH‐domain, which sequesters PI3K‐p85, potently suppressing invasion and metastasis.
