Rat visual cortical neurones express TrkA NGF receptor
Neuroreport, 2002In this study we report the expression of TrkA receptor within the rat visual cortex during postnatal development and in adulthood, using a specific monoclonal antibody which recognizes the extracellular domain of TrkA receptor. TrkA was not detected by immunohistochemistry at postnatal day 13 (P13), i.e. before eye opening.

Selectively Targeting Tropomyosin Receptor Kinase A (TRKA) via PROTACs
Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 2020Tropomyosin receptor kinases (TRKs) are promising cancer therapeutic targets. Chen et al. (J. Med. Chem. 2020, DOI: 10.1021/acs.jmedchem.0c01342) report the discovery of CG416 and CG428 as two potent small-molecule proteolysis-targeting chimera (PROTAC) degraders selective for TRKA over TRKB and TRKC.

Ligand activation of nerve growth factor receptor TrkA protects monocytes from apoptosis
Journal of Leukocyte Biology, 2000Nerve growth factor (NGF) receptors are expressed in different cell types outside the nervous system, and increasing evidence indicates that NGF can act as a regulatory molecule during inflammatory and immune responses.

Tetraspanin1 promotes NGF signaling by controlling TrkA receptor proteostasis
Cellular and Molecular Life Sciences, 2019The molecular mechanisms that control the biosynthetic trafficking, surface delivery, and degradation of TrkA receptor are essential for proper nerve growth factor (NGF) function, and remain poorly understood. Here, we identify Tetraspanin1 (Tspan1) as a critical regulator of TrkA signaling and neuronal differentiation induced by NGF.

The Ran binding protein RanBPM interacts with TrkA receptor
Neuroscience Letters, 2006RanBPM as a novel binding protein can interact with neurotrophin receptor p75NTR and tyrosine kinase receptor Met which has a similar tyrosine kinase structure as receptor TrkA has. Whether RanBPM interacts with neurotrophin receptor TrkA has not been established to date. In this study, using yeast two-hybrid system, it was identified that RanBPM bound

TrkA NGF receptor expression by non-cholinergic thalamic neurons
NeuroReport, 1993Expression of the trkA receptor for nerve growth factor was analyzed by mRNA in situ hybridization in the telencephalon and diencephalon in adult rats. Two densely packed populations expressing trkA mRNA were detected in the thalamus, in the paraventricular thalamic nucleus anterior and reuniens thalamic nucleus.

N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase V Modifies TrKA Protein, Regulates the Receptor Function
Cellular and Molecular Neurobiology, 20081. N-Acetylglucosaminyltransferases V (GnT-V/Mgat5) play a pivotal role in the processing of N-linked glycoproteins in the Golgi apparatus. The aim of the present study is to investigate whether the N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase V is able to modify TrKA, the high-affinity tyrosine kinase-type receptor for NGF, and thereby to regulate the receptor ...

Biological effects of TrkA and TrkB receptor signaling in neuroblastoma
Cancer Letters, 2005The Trk family consists of three receptor tyrosine kinases, each of which can be activated by one or more of four neurotrophins-NGF, BDNF, NT3 and NT4. Neurotrophins mediate their multiple effects through a number of distinct intracellular signaling cascades regulating such diverse biological responses as cell survival, proliferation and ...

AbstractMNAC13, a mouse monoclonal antibody, recognizes with high affinity and specificity the neurotrophin receptor TrkA and displays a neutralizing activity toward the NGF/TrkA interaction. Detailed knowledge of the molecular basis determining the specificity of this antibody is of importance because of its potential use as a modulator of the TrkA ...

The Neurotrophin Receptors TrkA and TrkB are Inhibitory for Neurite Outgrowth
European Journal of Neuroscience, 1995AbstractTo investigate the possibility that the neurotrophin tyrosine kinase receptors are also recognition molecules by virtue of their immunoglobulin‐like domains, the ability of TrkA and TrkB to influence neurite outgrowth was tested in vitro. Cell monolayers of fibroblasts transfected to express either the TrkA or TrkB receptor reduced neurite ...
