Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

The Role of the Brain in the Pathogenesis and Physiology of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). [PDF]
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common reproductive endocrine disorder, affecting at least 10% of women of reproductive age. PCOS is typically characterized by the presence of at least two of the three cardinal features of hyperandrogenemia (high ...

Androgen receptors as a prognostic and predictive factor in breast cancer.
Many theoretical and experimental models indicate that androgen receptors can play an important role as prognostic factors in breast cancer. The aim of this study was to evaluate the correlations between the presence of androgen receptors on cancer cells

Expression of androgen receptors in astrocytoma.
Thirty-two cases of surgically removed astrocytoma were evaluated for the expression of androgen receptors(ARs) immunohistochemically and the relationships between androgen receptors, DNA ploidy pattern, and survival of patients were studied.

BMI‐1 modulation and trafficking during M phase in diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma
The schematic illustrates BMI‐1 phosphorylation during M phase, which triggers its translocation from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. In cycling cells, BMI‐1 functions within the PRC1 complex to mediate H2A K119 monoubiquitination. Following PTC596‐induced M phase arrest, phosphorylated BMI‐1 dissociates from PRC1 and is exported to the cytoplasm via its

Androgen Receptors in Human Breast Cancer and Female Canine Mammary Tumors
This review explores the potential role of androgens in human breast cancer and female canine mammary tumors. Human breast cancer is one of the most common cancers affecting women globally, while female canine mammary tumors provide a natural model for ...
