Summary: Gamma/delta (γδ) T cells are unconventional lymphocytes that recognize diverse ligands via somatically recombined T cell antigen receptors (γδ TCRs). The molecular mechanism by which ligand recognition initiates γδ TCR signaling, a process known

Bovine gamma/delta T cells are stimulated by bovine coronavirus antigens identified by a soluble T cells receptor [PDF]
Gamma/delta (γδ) T cells in cattle account for an abundant T cell population. However, little is known regarding the function of γδ T cells as immune cells compared to αβ T cells. Not many pathogen-related antigens have been defined and known to stimulate γδ T cells.

Background Engineered T cell therapies have revolutionized treatment of relapsed refractory haematological malignancies, however the cost of treatment for autologous products remains a significant challenge to their widespread use. The high cost is driven largely by the need for personalized manufacturing of autologous cell products.

Mouse T lymphocytes that express a gamma delta T-cell antigen receptor contribute to resistance to Salmonella infection in vivo [PDF]
Mice depleted of lymphocytes expressing the alpha beta or the gamma delta T-cell receptor for antigen (TCR) by antibody treatment were infected orally with Salmonella enteritidis. In both groups of treated mice, the 50% lethal dose decreased, suggesting that both the alpha beta TCR+ and the gamma delta TCR+ subsets contribute to resistance to oral ...

Lymphocytes infiltrating normal human lung and lung carcinomas rarely express γδ T cell antigen receptors [PDF]
SUMMARYIt has been suggested that T lymphocytes expressing γδ T cell receptors (TCR) could play an important role in the defence of epithelia against infection and neoplastic transformation, but the potential for γδ T lymphocytes to serve these functions in human respiratory epithelium has received little attention.

Developmental arrest of NK1.1+ T cell antigen receptor (TCR)-alpha/beta+ T cells and expansion of NK1.1+ TCR-gamma/delta+ T cell development in CD3 zeta-deficient mice. [PDF]
The relationship between the structure of the T cell antigen receptor (TCR)-CD3 complex and development of NK1.1+ T cells was investigated. The TCR complex of freshly isolated NK1.1+ TCR-alpha/beta+ thymocytes contained CD3 zeta homodimers and CD zeta-FcR gamma heterodimers, whereas that of the majority of NK1.1- T cells did not contain FcR gamma.
