Secretome and Pathway Analysis of Stress Induced Disc Degeneration In Vitro

open access: yesJOR SPINE, Volume 9, Issue 2, June 2026.
Integrated secretome and phosphoprotein profiling of human nucleus pulposus cells revealed that IL‐1β and TLR2/6 activation induce a shared degenerative program, defined by consistent upregulation of IL‐6, IL‐8, GRO‐α, ICAM‐1, and MMP‐7 and convergence on NF‐κB/AP‐1 signaling.

α1‐Adrenergic Receptors Function Within Hetero‐Oligomeric Complexes With Atypical Chemokine Receptor 3 and Chemokine (C‐X‐C motif) Receptor 4 in Vascular Smooth Muscle Cells

open access: yesJournal of the American Heart Association: Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease, 2017
BackgroundRecently, we provided evidence that α1‐adrenergic receptors (ARs) in vascular smooth muscle are regulated by chemokine (C‐X‐C motif) receptor (CXCR) 4 and atypical chemokine receptor 3 (ACKR3). While we showed that CXCR4 controls α1‐ARs through

Extracellular Disulfide Bridges Serve Different Purposes in Two Homologous Chemokine Receptors, CCR1 and CCR5 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In addition to the 7 transmembrane receptor (7TM)-conserved disulfide bridge between transmembrane (TM) helix 3 and extracellular loop (ECL)-2, chemokine receptors (CCR) contain a disulfide bridge between the N terminus and what previously was believed ...

Coacervate‐Mediated Lysosome‐Targeting Antibody Delivery for Protein Degradation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 25, 4 May 2026.
Targeting coacervates to the lysosome in the cytoplasm is a challenge. Here, we convert a tetrapeptide into lysosome‐targeting, membrane‐translocating coacervates. The lysosome‐sorting peptide coacervates facilitate coacervate‐mediated delivery of antibody antigen complexes and a PROTAC compound to the lysosome for the targeted degradation of cancer ...

Partial agonist activity of α1-adrenergic receptor antagonists for chemokine (C-X-C motif) receptor 4 and atypical chemokine receptor 3.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2018
We observed in PRESTO-Tango β-arrestin recruitment assays that the α1-adrenergic receptor (AR) antagonist prazosin activates chemokine (C-X-C motif) receptor (CXCR)4. This prompted us to further examine this unexpected pharmacological behavior.

The role of the chemokine receptor CXCR4 in infection with feline immunodeficiency virus [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Infection with feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) leads to the development of a disease state similar to AIDS in man. Recent studies have identified the chemokine receptor CXCR4 as the major receptor for cell culture-adapted strains of FIV, suggesting ...

Atypical metastatic osteosarcoma pattern in a dog: Lymphatic, neurovascular and subcutaneous metastasis

open access: yesVeterinary Record Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 2, May 2026.
Abstract A 6‐year‐old, spayed, female labrador retriever was presented with left distal radial swelling. Imaging, cytology and biopsy identified an aggressive radial lesion with metastasis to the left axillary lymph node, and a diagnosis of presumptive osteosarcoma was made.

Evolutionarily conserved mechanisms regulating stress-induced neutrophil redistribution in fish

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
IntroductionStress may pose a serious challenge to immune homeostasis. Stress however also may prepare the immune system for challenges such as wounding or infection, which are likely to happen during a fight or flight stress response.MethodsIn common ...

Tumor- and cytokine-primed human natural killer cells exhibit distinct phenotypic and transcriptional signatures.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2019
An emerging cellular immunotherapy for cancer is based on the cytolytic activity of natural killer (NK) cells against a wide range of tumors. Although in vitro activation, or "priming," of NK cells by exposure to pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as ...

Animal Models of Hunner‐Type Interstitial Cystitis

open access: yesInternational Journal of Urology, Volume 33, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Animal models are crucial for mechanistic studies and therapeutic development of human diseases. At present, the etiology of interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS), a chronic disease of the urinary bladder, remains undefined.
