REEP1 contributes to endoplasmic reticulum (ER) shaping. Variants either cause cortical motoneuron degeneration and hereditary spastic paraplegia (HSP) or spinal motoneuron degeneration and distal hereditary motor neuropathy (dHMN). Knockout causes less complex ER structures and cortical motoneuron loss.

Four distinct satellite glial cell subtypes are identified in mouse dorsal root ganglia using single‐cell RNA sequencing and spatial validation. These subtypes show unique marker profiles and anatomical distributions. Human dorsal root ganglia display layered perisomatic organization with differential marker expression.

USP30 deubiquitinates and stabilizes MAT2A, thereby regulating DNA methylation and miRNA expression, which ultimately leads to disruption of lung endothelial barrier and inflammation. Abstract Microvascular dysfunction is a key contributor to the development of acute inflammatory diseases, characterized by heightened vascular hyperpermeability and ...

A Dynamic Gate Enables Regioselective Hydroxylation of Free Arginine by a Non‐Canonical Heme Enzyme
The YqcI/YcgG enzyme AglA employs a unique “sandwich” fold and a dynamic gating mechanism to selectively hydroxylate AMPn‐Arg at Nε. Site‐directed mutations reprogram regioselectivity or enable activity on free arginine by altering hydrogen‐bond networks, precisely positioning substrates.
