Effect of Two Therapeutic Renal Diets on Hormonal and Regulatory Pathways Affecting Calcium Homeostasis in Cats With Early‐Stage Chronic Kidney Disease

open access: yesJournal of Animal Physiology and Animal Nutrition, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a known risk factor for hypercalcemia in cats. Phosphate‐restricted diets have also been implicated in causing hypercalcemia, in part because phosphate restriction increases the Ca:P ratio. The primary objective of this study was to evaluate the impact of two different therapeutic renal foods on ionized (iCa ...

Systemic, Lifestyle and Environmental Modifying Factors in the Pathogenesis of Periodontitis

open access: yesJournal of Periodontal Research, EarlyView.
A variety of impacting factors in the pathogenesis of periodontitis exist, including systemic, lifestyle, and environmental factors. This review highlights the manifold mechanistic aspects of the link between the pathogenesis of periodontitis, addressing these numerous factors to supplement the long‐standing knowledge of the progression of the disease.

Inflammatory and Immunological Basis of Periodontal Diseases

open access: yesJournal of Periodontal Research, EarlyView.
The periodontal lesion emerges as an evolving immunological battlefield, where host–microbiome interactions, dysregulated immune responses, fragile resolution mechanisms, and inflammophilic dysbiosis converge to shift the balance from homeostasis to unrestrained tissue destruction.

Core conformation of arrestin coupling to parathyroid hormone type 1 receptor

open access: yesNature Communications
The recruitment of β-arrestin (βarr) by G-protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) holds imperative importance in physiological processes, while the mechanisms underlying arrestin engagement with receptors remain obscure.

Osteoporosis and Periodontitis: Two‐Way Epidemiological and Mechanistic Evidence

open access: yesJournal of Periodontal Research, EarlyView.
This review investigates the main mechanistic pathways connecting local periodontitis to systemic osteoporosis. Seven interconnected mechanisms are identified. ABSTRACT Osteoporosis and periodontitis are highly prevalent, chronic inflammatory diseases that constitute a major global health burden.

Innovations in Obesity Treatment: Beyond Adipose Tissue Dysfunction

open access: yesObesity Reviews, EarlyView.
Obesity drives chronic inflammation, insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, and cancer development through adipocyte dysfunction. Addressing this multisystemic disorder requires integrated strategies beyond diet and exercise, such as thermogenesis activation via menthol or capsinoids and appetite control through GLP‐1/GIP agonists and neuromodulation to ...

Combined Effects of Romosozumab and Zoledronate on the Development of Osteonecrosis of the Jaw

open access: yesOral Diseases, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective This study aimed to assess the occurrence of medication‐related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ) in mice following the sequential administration of romosozumab and zoledronate and to confirm their inhibitory effects on osteoclast differentiation in vitro.

Oral Delivery of Bioencapsulated CTB‐Pro‐IGF‐1 Enhances Bone Regeneration in a Pre‐Clinical Rat Model of Jaw Osteoradionecrosis

open access: yesOral Diseases, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Head and neck cancer radiotherapy can lead to jaw osteoradionecrosis (ORN). There is currently no definitive treatment for ORN. The efficacy of a novel orally delivered aglycosylated IGF‐1 with an E‐peptide (CTB‐Pro‐IGF‐1), bioencapsulated in plant cells, was evaluated as therapy for jaw ORN in rats. Materials and Methods Rat jaw ORN

Chinese Guideline on Risk Management of Osteoporosis in the General Public

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, EarlyView.
Summary of the background, key recommendations, and expected impact of the public guideline for osteoporosis risk management. ABSTRACT Background Osteoporosis is a common chronic skeletal disorder characterized by decreased bone mass and microarchitectural deterioration, resulting in increased fragility and fracture risk. With rapid population aging in

Factors Associated With Accelerated Fracture Healing in Patients With Traumatic Brain Injury and Extremity Comminuted Fractures: A Retrospective Case–Control Study

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, EarlyView.
In patients with traumatic brain injury and comminuted fractures, accelerated healing is independently predicted by younger age and greater TBI severity (lower GCS score). These factors may inform clinical decision‐making and provide insight into neurohumoral regulation of bone regeneration.
