Serotonin 2B receptor (5-HT2B R) signals through prostacyclin and PPAR-ß/δ in osteoblasts. [PDF]
Osteoporosis is due to an imbalance between decreased bone formation by osteoblasts and increased resorption by osteoclasts. Deciphering factors controlling bone formation is therefore of utmost importance for the understanding and the treatment of ...

The role of leukotrienes in allergic diseases
Leukotrienes (LTs), both LTB4 and the cysteinyl LTs (CysLTs) LTC4, LTD4 and LTE4, are implicated in a wide variety of inflammatory disorders. These lipid mediators are generated from arachidonic acid via multistep enzymatic reactions through which ...

Phospholipase A2 Receptor (PLA2R1) Sequence Variants in Idiopathic Membranous Nephropathy [PDF]
The M-type receptor for phospholipase A2 (PLA2R1) is the major target antigen in idiopathic membranous nephropathy (iMN). Our recent genome-wide association study showed that genetic variants in an HLA-DQA1 and phospholipase A2 receptor (PLA2R1) allele associate most significantly with biopsy-proven iMN, suggesting that rare genetic variants within the

This study utilizes a two‐sample Mendelian randomization framework to establish a causal link between circulating inflammatory proteins, blood metabolites, and the risk of serous ovarian carcinoma. Our findings identify Interleukin‐8 as a significant risk factor and demonstrate that 1‐Palmitoyl‐GPG (16:0) acts as a metabolic mediator within this ...

Objectives We examined whether two G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), muscarinic M1 receptors (M1Rs) and dopaminergic D2 receptors (D2Rs), utilize endogenously released fatty acid to inhibit L-type Ca2+ channels, CaV1.3.

The critical transition from amyloid pathology to irreversible neuronal loss in Alzheimer's disease hinges on the microglial response. This review aims to systematize the patterns of how microglia react within the glial context. Abstract Microglia mount coordinated, stage‐dependent compensatory programs in response to early amyloid β (Aβ) accumulation ...

Secretory Phospholipase A2 Receptor-Mediated Activation of Cytosolic Phospholipase A2 in Murine Bone Marrow-Derived Mast Cells [PDF]
Abstract The current study examined the signal transduction steps involved in the selective release of arachidonic acid (AA) induced by the addition of secretory phospholipase A2 (sPLA2) isotypes to bone marrow-derived mast cells (BMMC).

Experimental design and behavioral outcomes of bee venom treatment in a murine model of Parkinson's disease. Mice received an intrastriatal injection of 6‐OHDA into the right hemisphere to induce dopaminergic degeneration. Animals were subsequently treated with l‐DOPA/carbidopa, with or without bee venom (BV) administered intraperitoneally.
