European Identity and the Euro in Kosovo

open access: yesNations and Nationalism, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT How can nationalist leaders stand for political independence and monetary sovereignty while embracing the use of a supra‐national currency? At first sight, unilateral euroisation—the de facto adoption of the euro instead of a national currency—seems inconsistent with the goals of nationalism and independence.

Aggregation and the Structure of Value

open access: yesNoûs, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Roughly, the view I call “Additivism” sums up value across time and people. Given some standard assumptions, I show that Additivism follows from two principles. The first says that how lives align in time cannot, in itself, matter. The second says, roughly, that a world cannot be better unless it is better within some period or another.

‘Woeful Pay, But Still, I Enjoy It’: Refining Subjective Job Quality in Ride‐Share Work

open access: yesNew Technology, Work and Employment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Workers who experience structural barriers in the labour market are overrepresented in the gig economy. There is limited research on how the broader context of labour markets and welfare systems shapes workers' motivations for, and subjective understandings of, ride‐share work. Using established concepts of ‘constrained agency’, ‘labour market

3‐Methyl‐1‐Butanol Enhances Postharvest Resistance of Red Grapes to Botrytis cinerea by Activating Phenylpropanoid Metabolism and Antioxidant Defences

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Grey mould, caused by Botrytis cinerea, is a significant postharvest disease leading to substantial economic losses in the grape industry. This study investigated the regulatory mechanism of 3‐methyl‐1‐butanol (3M1B), a yeast volatile substance, on B. cinerea resistance in red grapes (Vitis vinifera L.).

Harnessing Bulk‐Segregant Mapping to Identify Trait‐Associated Genes in the Allopolyploid Model Plant Nicotiana benthamiana

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Forward genetics has been instrumental in identifying genes underlying desirable traits, yet its application to polyploid plants, many of which are key agricultural crops, remains challenging due to their genomic complexity. Therefore, we developed BenthMap, a bulk segregant analysis platform for high‐throughput trait mapping and gene ...
