The Yin and Yang of redox regulation [PDF]
Mammalian cells produce reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (ROS/RNOS) in response to an oxidative environment. Powerful antioxidant mechanisms have been developed in order to avoid oxidative stress by contributing to the maintenance of redox homeostasis.

Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Characterisation of components and mechanisms involved in redox-regulation of protein import into chloroplasts [PDF]
The vast majority of chloroplast proteins is encoded in the nucleus and thus has to be posttranslationally imported into the organelle, a process that is facilitated by two multimeric protein machineries, the Toc and Tic complexes (translocon at the ...

Dynamic Redox Regulation of IL-4 Signaling. [PDF]
Quantifying the magnitude and dynamics of protein oxidation during cell signaling is technically challenging. Computational modeling provides tractable, quantitative methods to test hypotheses of redox mechanisms that may be simultaneously operative ...

This study investigated a novel WST‐8‐based assay for evaluating d‐Amino acid oxidase (DAO) inhibitors. We confirmed its effectiveness using known inhibitors and found that uremic toxins possess relatively weak inhibitory activity compared to existing drugs.

Thioredoxin and Glutaredoxin: General Aspects and Involvement in Redox Regulation
Redox-active thiols play a major role in the mechanisms of essential biosynthetic and repair enzymes, defense against oxidative stress or thiol redox control of transcription, translation and enzyme activity.

The Stallion Spermatozoa: A Valuable Model to Help Understand the Interplay between Metabolism and Redox (De)regulation in Sperm Cells [PDF]
Significance: Proper functionality of the spermatozoa depends on the tight regulation of their redox status; at the same time these cells are highly energy demanding and in the energetic metabolism, principally in the electron transport chain in the ...
