Dual-fluorescent reporter for live-cell imaging of the ER during DENV infection

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology, 2022
Infection by flaviviruses leads to dramatic remodeling of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). Viral replication occurs within virus-induced vesicular invaginations in the ER membrane.

Fluorescent and Bioluminescent Reporter Myxoviruses

open access: yesViruses, 2016
The advent of virus reverse genetics has enabled the incorporation of genetically encoded reporter proteins into replication-competent viruses. These reporters include fluorescent proteins which have intrinsic chromophores that absorb light and re-emit ...

Construction, Characterization and Application of Recombinant Porcine Deltacoronavirus Expressing Nanoluciferase

open access: yesViruses, 2021
Porcine deltacoronavirus (PDCoV), an emerging enteropathogenic coronavirus, causes diarrhoea in suckling piglets and has the potential for cross-species transmission. No effective PDCoV vaccines or antiviral drugs are currently available.

First Report of Grapevine Virus A in Spain

open access: yesPlant Disease, 1997
Grapevine trichovirus A (GVA), a flexuous, filamentous, phloem-limited virus with an approximately 7.3-kbp RNA genome, is widespread in grapevines showing symptoms of leafroll and/or rugose wood. The virus can be mechanically inoculated to Nicotiana benthamiana and N. clevelandii.

Generation and validation of a highly sensitive bioluminescent HIV-1 reporter vector that simplifies measurement of virus release

open access: yesRetrovirology, 2020
Background The continued persistence of HIV-1 as a public health concern due to the lack of a cure calls for the development of new tools for studying replication of the virus.

A report on Nipah Virus

open access: yesJournal of Drug Delivery and Therapeutics, 2019
Nipah virus, a paramyxovirus related to Hendra virus. Nipah virus first emerged in Malaysia, outbreak continue to occur in Bangladesh and India. In Malaysia-Singapore outbreak transmission occurred primarily through contact with pig. While in Bangladesh and India it is related with ingestion of contaminated date palm sap and human-to-human transmission.

Hepatitis G virus / GB virus C in Brazil. Preliminary report [PDF]

open access: yesRevista do Instituto de Medicina Tropical de São Paulo, 1996
Hepatitis G virus/ GB virus C is a novel flavivirus recently detected in hepatitis non A-E cases. In this study, the presence of this virus in chronic non-B, non-C hepatitis patients was evaluated using GBV-C specific PCR and this virus was detected in one out of thirteen patients. This patient has presented a severe liver failure, has lived for a long

Generation of a Reassortant Influenza A Subtype H3N2 Virus Expressing Gaussia Luciferase

open access: yesViruses, 2019
Reporter influenza A viruses (IAVs) carrying fluorescent or luminescent genes provide a powerful tool for both basic and translational research. Most reporter IAVs are based on the backbone of either subtype H1N1 viruses, A/Puerto Rico/8/1934 (PR8) or A ...
