The mnemic neglect model: Experimental demonstrations of inhibitory repression in normal adults

open access: yes, 2006
Normal adults recall poorly social feedback that refers to them, is negative, and pertains to core self-aspects. This phenomenon, dubbed the mnemic neglect effect, is equivalent to inhibitory repression.

The role of TNRC6 proteins in gene silencing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Proteins of the GW182 family have recently emerged as key players in miRNAmediated gene silencing. They have been shown to interact with Argonaute proteins, components of the RISC and are assumed to mediate the repression in metazoa. Three paralogues are

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Epigenetic heterogeneity and plasticity in therapy‐induced tumor states through single‐cell multi‐omics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.

The role of GW182 proteins in microRNA-mediated gene silencing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
MicroRNAs are endogenous approximately 21-nucleotide-long non-coding RNAs that act as post-transcriptional regulators of gene expression by base pairing to target mRNAs.

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

Hidden Repression Under Dictatorships [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This paper presents a model of the interactions between a dictator and a mass of citizens in which the dictator might have an incentive to use hidden repression. Most papers on political economy of dictatorships assume that the role of repression might
