Lac Repressor

Angewandte Chemie International Edition in English, 1971
AbstractRepressors are proteins that interact with inducers and operators to regulate the synthesis of enzymes in the cell. Lac repressor ensures that sufficient β‐galactosidase is available to the bacterium Escherichia coli, depending upon the amount of lactose present in the culture medium. It has proved possible to isolate lac repressor from E.coli.

Co‐repressors 2000

The FASEB Journal, 2000
ABSTRACT In the last 5 years, many co‐repressors have been identified in eukaryotes that function in a wide range of species, from yeast to Drosophila and humans. Co‐repressors are coregulators that are recruited by DNA‐bound transcriptional silencers and play essential ...

Repressors of photomorphogenesis

2002
The internal programs of plant development are informed in a profound way by environmental light conditions. This review summarizes the contribution of repressor proteins to the light-signaling machinery during seedling development, and discusses the integration of repressors with other, positively acting, light-signaling pathways and auxin and ...
