In glioblastoma, the novel lncRNA CASCADES is enriched in cancer stem cells and regulates stemness by acting as a super‐enhancer‐associated epigenetic regulator of SOX2. Knockdown of CASCADES induces glioma stem cell differentiation towards a neuronal lineage, highlighting its role in treatment resistance and tumor recurrence.

After the first mitosis of a single epithelial cell embedded in extracellular matrix (ECM), the cell doublet typically displays “inverted” polarity, and correct cystogenesis requires polarity reorientation, a process containing apical protein endocytosis from the ECM‐abutting periphery and apical vesicle exocytosis to the cell–cell contact site.

Testicular germ cell tumours (GCT) are divided into three different subtypes according to their developmental origin, molecular features and histological differences. This review article summarises the pathobiological and developmental aspects of the three different types of testicular GCT that help in the histopathological examination of GCT by ...

Transient pluripotent cell populations during primitive ectoderm formation: correlation of in vivo and in vitro pluripotent cell development. [PDF]
Formation and differentiation of a pluripotent cell population is central to mammalian development, and the isolation, identification and manipulation of human pluripotent cells is predicted to be of therapeutic use.

The estrogen receptor (ER) drives growth in most breast cancers. Endocrine therapy reduces recurrence, however around 30% of cancers relapse. Many recurrences occur years later, with slowly proliferating, hard-to-treat disease. To study this, we generate

Stemness is derived from thyroid cancer cells
Background: One hypothesis for thyroid cancer development is its derivation from thyroid cancer stem cells (CSCs). Such cells could arise via different paths including from mutated resident stem cells within the thyroid gland or via epithelial to ...
