Assessment of nutrient adequacy and associated factors among lactating women of rural Bangladesh using observed intake: Findings from Bangladesh Integrated Household Survey 2018–2019

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 11, Issue 1, Page 126-136, January 2023., 2023
Our study focused exclusively on adequacy of nutrient intake and the determinants of overall diet quality among lactating women of rural Bangladesh from a population‐weighted, nationally representative large sample. The diet of most lactating women of rural Bangladesh indicates the inadequacy of several micronutrients especially riboflavin, calcium ...

Safety and efficacy of vitamin B2 (riboflavin and riboflavin 5’‐phosphate ester monosodium salt) produced by Bacillus subtilis for all animal species based on a dossier submitted by DSM

open access: yesEFSA Journal, 2016
Riboflavin is produced by two genetically modified Bacillus subtilis strains. Neither the production strains nor their recombinant DNA were detected in the final riboflavin products.

Estimating high-dimensional intervention effects from observational data [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of Statistics 2009, Vol. 37, No. 6A, 3133-3164, 2008
We assume that we have observational data generated from an unknown underlying directed acyclic graph (DAG) model. A DAG is typically not identifiable from observational data, but it is possible to consistently estimate the equivalence class of a DAG. Moreover, for any given DAG, causal effects can be estimated using intervention calculus.

Update on riboflavin and multiple sclerosis: a systematic review [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Basic Medical Sciences, 2017
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an inflammatory demyelinating disease of the central nervous system (CNS). Riboflavin plays an important role in myelin formation, and its deficiency is implicated as a risk factor for multiple sclerosis.

Enhanced mitochondrial activity reshapes a gut microbiota profile that delays NASH progression

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Improved mitochondrial activity, due to the lack of methylation‐controlled J protein (MCJ), creates a specific microbiota signature that when transferred through cecal microbiota transplantation delays NASH progression by restoring the gut‐liver axis and enhancing hepatic fatty acid oxidation.

Research Note: Effects of riboflavin on reproductive performance and antioxidant status of duck breeders

open access: yesPoultry Science, 2020
An experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of dietary riboflavin levels on reproductive performance, riboflavin status, and antioxidant status of laying duck breeders, to estimate the requirement of this vitamin for duck breeders.

Engineering thermophilic Geobacillus thermoglucosidasius for riboflavin production

open access: yesMicrobial Biotechnology, 2020
The potential advantages for fermentation production of chemicals at high temperatures are attractive, such as promoting the rate of biochemical reactions, reducing the risk of contamination and the energy consumption for fermenter cooling. In this work,

Theranostic‐guided corneal cross‐linking: Preclinical evidence on a new treatment paradigm for keratoconus

open access: yesJournal of Biophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Theranostics is an emerging therapeutic paradigm of personalized and precision medicine that performs therapy guided by molecular diagnostic imaging. The technology was implemented in a UV‐A medical device and showed to efficiently drive the operator in performing personalized riboflavin/UV‐A corneal cross‐linking for treatment of corneal disorders ...

Identifying Key Properties That Drive Redox Mediator Activity in Lactiplantibacillus Plantarum

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Synthesis and isolation of structurally diverse quinones led to defining key physicochemical properties and biochemical interactions that drive type‐II NADH dehydrogenase (Ndh2)‐dependent extracellular electron transfer activity in Lactiplantibacillus plantarum.
