15 Ribonuclease III

1982
Publisher Summary Ribonuclease III (RNase III) of Escherichia coli is responsible for the first steps in the post-transcriptional processing of E. coli ribosomal RNA. RNase III was first characterized as an endoribonuclease that specifically degrades double-stranded RNAs of either natural or synthetic origin.

The Ribonuclease of Phaseolus Aureus Roxb: III. — Effectors and Specificity

Archives Internationales de Physiologie et de Biochimie, 1961
AbstractSeveral divalent metal ions (Hg++, Cu++, Zn++ are powerful inhibitors of the Phaseolus aureus RNase activity. Other divalent metal ions inhibit less; none of those investigated activate the enzyme.Anionic polymers do not inhibit in conditions where they are very effective against pancreatic RNase. This is the case for heparin, sulphated pectins

The action of ribonuclease of neoplastic growth III. Studies by interference microscopy

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta, 1956
Abstract The action of ribonuclease, in vitro, on a number of suspensions of living ascites cells, in different physiological conditions, has been followed and measured by interference microscopy. The results show that ribonuclease can produce an important initial increase in the cellular mass (biochemical estimations, made in parallel, indicate ...

Studies on Salivary Gland Ribonucleases. III. Purification and Properties of Three Ribonucleases from Bovine Parotid Gland

Journal of Biochemistry, 1983
Three alkaline ribonucleases [EC 3.1.4.22] were purified 4,500- to 7,850-fold from bovine parotid gland by repeated CM-Sephadex C-25 chromatography and Sephadex G-50 gel filtration, with a total recovery of about 33%. They were designated as RNase BP1, BP2, and BP3, based on their order of elution from a CM-Sephadex C-25 column.

Epidermal nucleases. III. The ribonucleases of human epidermis.

The British journal of dermatology, 1978
Sodium acetate and sulphuric acid extracts of human epidermis can each be separated by chromatographic techniques into three or more fractions with ribonuclease activity. Eight of these fractions were compared with respect to molecular weight, pH activity profile, polyribonucleotide hydrolysis, and activity in the presence of low levels of spermidine ...

A role for ribonuclease III in synthesis of bacteriophage T4 transfer RNAs

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1979
Abstract Synthesis of T4 tRNAGln depends on normal levels of Escherichia coli ribonuclease III. Infection of cell strains carrying a mutation in the gene for this enzyme resulted in severe depression in tRNAGln production, as revealed by chemical and suppressor tRNA analyses.
