CRISPR‐Cas systems and RNA‐guided interference
WIREs RNA, 2013AbstractClustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR) together with associated sequences (cas) form the CRISPR‐Cas system, which provides adaptive immunity against viruses and plasmids in bacteria and archaea. Immunity is built through acquisition of short stretches of invasive nucleic acids into CRISPR loci as ‘spacers'.

Functions and Applications of RNA-Guided CRISPR-Cas Immune Systems
2014Clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPRs), together with CRISPR-associated sequences (cas) constitute the CRISPR-Cas adaptive immune system in bacteria and archaea. Adaptive immunity is built into CRISPR arrays through the uptake of small pieces of invasive nucleic acids, such as viruses and plasmids.

Transgenic Research, 2014
The CRISPR-Cas system is the newest targeted nuclease for genome engineering. In less than 1 year, the ease, robustness and efficiency of this method have facilitated an immense range of genetic modifications in most model organisms. Full and conditional gene knock-outs, knock-ins, large chromosomal deletions and subtle mutations can be obtained using ...

CRISPR/Cas System Photocontrolled at the Guide RNA Level
BiophysicsImproving the efficiency and precision of gene editing systems is of utmost importance for modern molecular biology and genetic engineering. Of particular interest is the design of controlled CRISPR/Cas9 systems, the activity of which could be regulated using different physico-chemical stimuli such as light irradiation, pH change, temperature, change ...
