Insights on Dengue and Zika NS5 RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) inhibitors.

European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 2021
Over recent years, many outbreaks caused by (re)emerging RNA viruses have been reported worldwide, including life-threatening Flaviviruses, such as Dengue (DENV) and Zika (ZIKV). Currently, there is only one licensed vaccine against Dengue, Dengvaxia®. However, its administration is not recommended for children under nine years.

Epitope‐based immunoinformatics approach on RNA‐dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) protein complex of Nipah virus (NiV)

Journal of Cellular Biochemistry, 2018
Persistent outbreaks of Nipah virus (NiV) with severe case fatality throw a major challenge on researchers to develop a drug or vaccine to combat the disease.

In silico identification of novel benzophenone–coumarin derivatives as SARS-CoV-2 RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) inhibitors

Journal of Biomolecular Structure and Dynamics, 2021
In this study, we propose our novel benzophenone–coumarin derivatives (BCDs) as potent inhibitors of the RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) of SARS-CoV-2 virus, one of the key targets that are involved in the viral genome replication. We aim to evaluate

Revealing the Inhibition Mechanism of RNA-Dependent RNA Polymerase (RdRp) of SARS-CoV-2 by Remdesivir and Nucleotide Analogues: A Molecular Dynamics Simulation Study.

Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2020
Antiviral drug therapy against SARS-CoV-2 is not yet established and posing a serious global health issue. Remdesivir is the first antiviral compound approved by the US FDA for the SARS-CoV-2 treatment for emergency use, targeting RNA-dependent RNA ...

Potential use of RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) inhibitor against COVID-19 infection

2020
Favipiravir, an inhibitor of RNA-dependent RNA polymerase used against the Japanese flu, was recently suggested as a potential COVID-19 inhibitor. Since Favipiravir targets a critical and a viral specific process, using it as a treatment could be beneficial in slowing the outbreak.

Structure Analysis of Interacting Domains of RNA Dependent RNA Polymerase (Rdrp) Complex in Nipah Virus

Biochemistry & Physiology: Open Access, 2015
Nipah virus is an emerging zoonotic paramyxovirus that is responsible for severe outbreaks in humans and livestocks. This negative stranded RNA virus carries RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) complex which is required for viral RNA replication and transcription as a catalytic subunit of viral replicase.

Conserved amino acids in HCoV-HKU1 and SARS-Cov2 at RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) motifs

2021
A novel and related to severe acute respiratory syndrome associated coronavirus (SARS-CoV2) has been identified as an infectious coronavirus originating from a Wuhan seafood market and rapidly spreading into and beyond China. While non-conserved regions of viral genome can lead to novel coronavirus subtypes, conserved regions are also very important ...
