SARS‐CoV‐2 nucleocapsid protein variants have differential RNA chaperone activity

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 293, Issue 9, Page 2579-2598, May 2026.
The SARS‐CoV‐2 nucleocapsid (N) protein is not only the specific viral RNA packaging protein, but also acts as an RNA chaperone, facilitating RNA folding. We show that it facilitates RNA annealing through its RBD–IDR2–CTD region, identifying it as a functional RNA chaperone.

The Role of Histone Modifications in Plant Priming and Their Analysis by Chromatin Immunoprecipitation

open access: yesPhysiologia Plantarum, Volume 178, Issue 3, May/June 2026.
ABSTRACT Plants are frequently exposed to adverse conditions. Priming, also known as acclimation or hardening, induces stress memory and prepares plants for future challenges by activating defense and protective mechanisms. For this reason, priming is an effective means to maintain plant yield in the face of climate change. Memory behind the priming is

Oridonin‐Loaded PDA@Gel@GO Nanocapsules Modulate NLRP3 and Epithelial Repair in Colitis

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 8, 30 April 2026.
Mechanism of galactosylated carboxymethyl chitosan nanomicelle oral microcapsules delivering oridonin in alleviating colitis via targeting the NLRP3 inflammasome. ABSTRACT Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease marked by sustained mucosal inflammation and epithelial barrier dysfunction, closely associated with aberrant NOD‐like

Innate Immunity and Microbial Recognition in Reproduction: From Barrier Defense to Maternal–Fetal Tolerance

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 8, 30 April 2026.
Graphical abstract illustrating the barrier defense–tolerance framework of reproductive innate immunity. Across the female and male reproductive tracts and the maternal–fetal interface, epithelial barriers, innate sensors, immune cells, and microbial signals are integrated to preserve reproductive homeostasis.

2‐Phenylquinolines Exhibit Anti‐Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus‐2 Activity Through the Nonstructural Protein 13 Helicase Inhibition

open access: yesChemMedChem, Volume 21, Issue 7, 14 April 2026.
A SAR study led to the identification of new 2‐phenylquinoline‐based derivatives that exhibit anti‐Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus‐2 (SARS‐CoV‐2) activity by acting as ATP‐competitive inhibitors of nonstructural protein 13 (nsp13) helicase.
