CD226+CD8+ T cells express elevated levels of RUNX2, exhibit higher proliferation capacity, cytokines and cytolytic molecules expression, and migratory capacity. In contrast, CD226−CD8+ T cells display an exhausted phenotype associated with the increased expression of co‐inhibitory receptors and impaired effector functions.

Advances in CRISPR-Cas9 genome engineering: lessons learned from RNA interference
The discovery that the machinery of the Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats (CRISPR)-Cas9 bacterial immune system can be re-purposed to easily create deletions, insertions and replacements in the mammalian genome has revolutionized ...

Triacsin C inhibition of the acyl‐CoA synthetase long chain (ACSL) family decreases multiple myeloma cell survival, proliferation, mitochondrial respiration, and membrane potential. Made with Biorender.com. Multiple myeloma (MM) is an incurable cancer of plasma cells with a 5‐year survival rate of 59%.

Shapes of interacting RNA complexes [PDF]
Shapes of interacting RNA complexes are studied using a filtration via their topological genus. A shape of an RNA complex is obtained by (iteratively) collapsing stacks and eliminating hairpin loops. This shape-projection preserves the topological core of the RNA complex and for fixed topological genus there are only finitely many such shapes. Our main ...

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a disease with very poor prognosis due to therapeutic limitations. We investigated the antitumor effects of cystatin A (CSTA) in PDAC murine models. We are first to confirm that CSTA enhances T helper type 1‐mediated antitumor effects through promotion of dendritic cells and M1 macrophage activity. CSTA can be

HN1L Promotes Triple-Negative Breast Cancer Stem Cells through LEPR-STAT3 Pathway
Summary: Here, we show that HEMATOLOGICAL AND NEUROLOGICAL EXPRESSED 1-LIKE (HN1L) is a targetable breast cancer stem cell (BCSC) gene that is altered in 25% of whole breast cancer and significantly correlated with shorter overall or relapse-free ...

RNA interference approaches for treatment of HIV-1 infection
HIV/AIDS is a chronic and debilitating disease that cannot be cured with current antiretroviral drugs. While combinatorial antiretroviral therapy (cART) can potently suppress HIV-1 replication and delay the onset of AIDS, viral mutagenesis often leads to

Overview of RNA interference therapeutics [PDF]
Since the term RNA interference (RNAi) was coined in 1998, much knowledge about RNAi has accumulated. Presently,RNAi is known as a power tool for studying gene function as well as a potential therapeutic molecular technique for a widerange of disorders ...
