The de novo cytosine methyltransferase DRM2 requires intact UBA domains and a catalytically mutated paralog DRM3 during RNA-directed DNA methylation in Arabidopsis thaliana. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS Genetics, 2010
Eukaryotic DNA cytosine methylation can be used to transcriptionally silence repetitive sequences, including transposons and retroviruses. This silencing is stable between cell generations as cytosine methylation is maintained epigenetically through DNA ...

Table_3_Malignant Evaluation and Clinical Prognostic Values of m6A RNA Methylation Regulators in Glioblastoma.XLSX

open access: yes, 2020
N6-methyladenosine (m6A) RNA methylation, the most common form of mRNA modification and regulated by the m6A RNA methylation regulators (“writers,” “erasers,” and “readers”), has been reported to be associated with the progression of the malignant tumor.

Image1_Expression pattern and clinical value of Key RNA methylation modification regulators in ischemic stroke.TIF

open access: yes, 2022
Ischemic stroke (IS) is one of the major causes of death and disability worldwide, and effective diagnosis and treatment methods are lacking. RNA methylation, a common epigenetic modification, plays an important role in disease progression.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Critical roles and clinical perspectives of RNA methylation in cancer

open access: yesMedComm
RNA modification, especially RNA methylation, is a critical posttranscriptional process influencing cellular functions and disease progression, accounting for over 60% of all RNA modifications. It plays a significant role in RNA metabolism, affecting RNA

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

RNA methylation in inflammatory bowel disease [PDF]

open access: yes
RNA modifications, including the renowned m6A, have recently garnered significant attention. This chemical alteration, present in mRNA, exerts a profound influence on protein expression levels by affecting splicing, nuclear export, stability, translation,
