RNA regulatory processes in RNA virus biology
Numerous post‐transcriptional RNA processes play a major role in regulating the quantity, quality and diversity of gene expression in the cell. These include RNA processing events such as capping, splicing, polyadenylation and modification, but also ...

The RNA Virus Database is a database and web application describing the genome organization and providing analytical tools for the 938 known species of RNA virus. It can identify submitted nucleotide sequences, can place them into multiple whole-genome alignments (in species where more than one isolate has been fully sequenced) and contains translated ...

RNA composition of Junin virus [PDF]
Junin virus grown in BHK-21 cells was labeled with [3H]uridine and highly purified by differential and isopycnic centrifugation. The RNAs extracted with phenol and analyzed by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis were shown to be composed of four large species (33, 28, and 18S) and three small ones (4, 5, and 5.5S).

Challenges in RNA virus bioinformatics [PDF]
Abstract Motivation: Computer-assisted studies of structure, function and evolution of viruses remains a neglected area of research. The attention of bioinformaticians to this interesting and challenging field is far from commensurate with its medical and biotechnological importance.

Comparison of 6/94 Virus and Sendai Virus RNA by RNA-RNA Hybridization [PDF]
The genomic RNA of 6/94 virus, an agent isolated from the brains of multiple sclerosis patients, was studied for sequence homology by RNA-RNA hybridization with closely related Sendai virus and another paramyxovirus virus, Newcastle disease virus.

Electrostatics and the assembly of an RNA virus [PDF]
Electrostatic interactions play a central role in the assembly of single-stranded RNA viruses. Under physiological conditions of salinity and acidity, virus capsid assembly requires the presence of genomic material that is oppositely charged to the core proteins. In this paper we apply basic polymer physics and statistical mechanics methods to the self-

The Rna-Dependent RNA Polymerase of the Influenza a Virus [PDF]
The influenza A virus causes a highly contagious respiratory disease that significantly impacts our economy and health. Its replication and transcription is catalyzed by the viral RNA polymerase. This enzyme is also crucial for the virus, because it is involved in the adaptation of zoonotic strains.
