PHOTOOXYGENATION OF ROTENONE [PDF]

open access: yesChemistry Letters, 1974
Abstract In the photooxygenation of rotenone(I) in pyridine solution, two isomers of rotenolones, 6aβ, 12aβ- and 6aβ, 12aα-rotenolones (II and III), were obtained besides dehydrorotenone(V) and rotenonone(VI). As one of acidic products, a keto-acid (IVa) was also isolated.

Oxygen Vacancy‐Enriched Platinum Single‐Atom Nanozyme Wrapped in Nanoislands: Unlocking Catalytic Activity and Reprogramming Redox Microenvironment for Osteonecrosis Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CeO2‐x/Pt single‐atom nano‐island is constructed via low‐temperature reduction, featuring abundant oxygen vacancies and an island–sea structure. It delivers outstanding multi‐enzyme‐mimetic activity and ROS‐scavenging efficiency. Density functional theory reveals optimized electronic structures and reaction pathways.

Engineered Exosomal miR‐146a‐5p Reprograms BMSC Fate and Restores Mitochondrial Homeostasis in Glucocorticoid‐Induced Osteonecrosis of Femoral Head

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Exosomal miR‐146a‐5p is identified as a pivotal regulator in steroid‐induced osteonecrosis. Its reduction activates NF‐κB signaling, compromises mitophagy, and disrupts mitochondrial bioenergetics, resulting in autophagic disequilibrium. Engineered exosomes delivering miR‐146a‐5p reinstate mitochondrial function, augment oxidative phosphorylation and ...

Wavelength‐Dependent Photobiomodulation Regulates Macrophage Polarization via Mitochondrial Dynamics and Metabolic Reprogramming

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Light wavelength encodes distinct macrophage fates through mitochondrial and metabolic remodeling. Red 625 nm irradiation induces glycolysis, mitochondrial fission, and M1 polarization, whereas near‐infrared 850 nm irradiation promotes fatty acid oxidation, mitochondrial fusion, and M2 polarization.

Spatiotemporal Targeting Randle Cycle and Immune Checkpoint for Potent Antitumor Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A glucose oxidase‐based nanogel (GOX‐NG) system using catechol‐functionalized alginate, exhibits enhanced tumor penetration, prolonged retention, and sustained glucose depletion in the tumor microenvironment. When combined with a fatty acid oxidation inhibitor, it implements dual metabolic suppression, thereby enhancing ROS‐induced immunogenic cell ...

Pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate ameliorates rotenone-induced Parkinson’s disease in rats

open access: yesBulletin of Faculty of Pharmacy Cairo University, 2017
Pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate (PDTC), a low-molecular-weight thiol antioxidant, possesses neuroprotection; however, its possible modulatory effect in Parkinson’s disease (PD) has not been tested.

Antigen Spreading via Localized Administration Enhances Adoptive TCR‐T Cell Therapy in Pancreatic Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cancer vaccines face limitations in pancreatic cancer due to insufficient tumor antigens. This ionic liquid ILvax via local tumor delivery triggers robust cDC1‐dependent systemic anti‐tumor immunity. It boosts endogenous CD8+ T cells and optimizes adoptive TCR‐T function, providing a promising synergistic therapeutic strategy.

Increase in anti-apoptotic molecules, nucleolin, and heat shock protein 70, against upregulated LRRK2 kinase activity

open access: yesAnimal Cells and Systems, 2018
Leucine-rich repeat kinase 2 (LRRK2) is involved in Parkinson’s disease (PD) pathology. A previous study showed that rotenone treatment induced apoptosis, mitochondrial damage, and nucleolar disruption via up-regulated LRRK2 kinase activity, and these ...
