Advancements in Mass Spectrometry‐Based Glycomics in Food and Nutritional Science

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, Volume 45, Issue 4, Page 829-850, July/August 2026.
ABSTRACT This review highlights advancements in mass spectrometry (MS)‐based glycomics in food and nutritional science. Carbohydrates, which are vital for human health, exhibit complex structures, making their analysis challenging. MS has become an indispensable tool for elucidating the structures of carbohydrates, including glycans, through soft ...

Chemical‐Assembled Macrophage‐Engaging Glypican‐3 × Signal Regulatory Protein‐α (SIRP‐α) Bispecific Antibody for Immunotherapy Against Liver Cancer

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 7, July 2026.
We developed a novel chemical strategy to generate a glypican‐3 × SIRP‐α bispecific antibody that simultaneously blocks the CD47 “don't eat me” signal, engages macrophages to target liver cancer cells for enhanced phagocytosis, and antigen presentation. This novel combination of targets demonstrates remarkable efficacy in vitro and in vivo.

A Single Hydrophobic Residue Enhances the Uptake of Short Cationic Proline‐Rich Cell‐Penetrating Peptides

open access: yesJournal of Peptide Science, Volume 32, Issue 7, July 2026.
The introduction of a single hydrophobic residue at the C‐terminus of short cationic peptides enhances passive translocation and cellular uptake. ABSTRACT Cationic cell‐penetrating peptides (CPPs) are a versatile platform for intracellular cargo delivery into mammalian cells but often suffer from low cellular uptake and endosomal entrapment.

Radiolabeled Angiopep‐2 Peptide Vector as a Preclinical Platform for Blood–Brain Barrier Targeting: Synthesis, Radiolabeling, and Preliminary In Vivo Biodistribution in Mice

open access: yesJournal of Peptide Science, Volume 32, Issue 7, July 2026.
The developed DOTA‐Angiopep‐2 conjugate was well tolerated in glioma cells and enabled high‐yield radiolabeling with 177Lu and 161Tb. The 161Tb conjugate showed brain delivery with predominantly renal clearance, supporting a stable radiotheranostic platform for BBB‐targeted glioma therapy and SPECT imaging.

Simultaneous Analysis of Antihyperlipidemic Drug Combinations by Green High‐Performance Liquid Chromatography Using Design of Experiments

open access: yesSEPARATION SCIENCE PLUS, Volume 9, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of worldwide mortality, often supported by intricate dyslipidemic patterns of high levels of low‐density lipoprotein cholesterol and triacylglycerol. HMG‐CoA reductase inhibitors (statins) and ezetimibe can be used synergistically to treat these pathologies, as they target distinct metabolic ...

Aqueous Phase Extraction of Caper Seed Protein by Ohmic Heating‐Assisted Enzymatic Technique: Assessment of Physicochemical Characteristics and Techno‐Functional Properties of Extracts

open access: yesJournal of Food Process Engineering, Volume 49, Issue 7, July 2026.
Optimized ohmic heating‐assisted enzymatic extraction (OHA‐EE) enhanced protein recovery from caper seeds while preserving desirable structural characteristics and improving functional properties. OHA‐EE outperformed conventional alkaline extraction (AE) in terms of protein recovery and overall functionality, yielding high‐quality protein powders with ...
