P38 Phosphorylation in Medullary Microglia Mediates Ectopic Orofacial Inflammatory Pain in Rats

open access: yesMolecular Pain, 2015
Background Orofacial inflammatory pain is likely to accompany referred pain in uninflamed orofacial structures. The ectopic pain precludes precise diagnosis and makes treatment problematic, because the underlying mechanism is not well understood.

Stimulating Effect of Manumycin A on Suicidal Erythrocyte Death

open access: yesCellular Physiology and Biochemistry, 2016
Background/Aims: The streptomycete derived farnesyltransferase inhibitor Manumycin A triggers apoptosis of tumor cells and is thus considered for the treatment of malignancy.

Cryptocaryone Exhibits ROS/MAPK‐Dependent Antiproliferative and Apoptosis‐Inducing Effects on Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer Cells and Proof‐of‐Concept Breast Cancer Mouse Model

open access: yesDrug Development Research, Volume 87, Issue 3, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Omics’ technologies have enabled clinicians to gain previously unprecedented insights into the molecular complexity and clinical heterogeneity of triple‐negative breast cancer (TNBC). Increasingly it is being realized that TNBC does not respond well to current targeted therapies.

p38 Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase Contributes to Angiotensin II-Stimulated Migration of Rat Aortic Smooth Muscle Cells

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacological Sciences, 2007
In this study, we clarified the intracellular mechanism of angiotensin II (Ang II) in promoting migration in rat aortic smooth muscle cells (RASMCs). RASMC migration was measured with the Boyden chamber assay, and the result was confirmed with an aortic ...

Effect of SB203580 on apoptosis related gene expression pattern of SEB in human PBMCs

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, 2009
Here we attempt to utilize a well characterized set of apoptotic related genes that are key to the pathogenesis of Staphylococcal Enterotoxin B (SEB) induced lethal shock in human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) to evaluate the effectiveness of a potential inhibitor of apoptosis related events.

Targeting Combinatorial Transcriptional Complex Assembly at Specific Modules within the Interleukin-2 Promoter by the Immunosuppressant SB203580 [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 2003
The proximal promoter sequence of the interleukin-2 (IL-2) gene contains a series of composite sites or modules that controls much of its responsiveness to environmental stimuli. The integrated targeting of these modules is therefore a major mode of regulation.

A Smart Bio‐Battery Facilitates Diabetic Bone Defect Repair Via Inducing Macrophage Reprogramming and Synergistically Modulating Bone Remodeling Coupling

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 24, 23 March 2026.
This research presents a novel implantable bio‐battery, GF‐OsG, tailored for diabetic bone repair. GF‐OsG generates microcurrents in high‐glucose conditions to enhance vascularization, shift macrophages to the M2 phenotype, and regulate immune responses.

Dual inhibition of DNA damage repair sensitizes photodynamic therapy for triple negative breast cancer

open access: yesMaterials Today Bio
Photodynamic therapy (PDT) has emerged as an ideal candidate among reactive oxygen species (ROS)-mediated tumor therapies. However, the self-repair of DNA, a hallmark of mechanism induced by excessive intracellular ROS is one of the leading causes of PDT

Reversal of Adrenergic Desensitization in Prenatally Stressed Rats by P38 Map Kinase Inhibitor, SB203580

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, 2008
We previously reported a defect in beta adrenergic responsiveness in cardiac myoctes isolated from pre‐natally stressed rats (PS) following restraint stress (R) (PS+R). We now report a reversal of the blunted beta adrenergic responsiveness in PS + R with the P38 MAP kinase inhibitor, SB203580, in vivo.
