Potential immunosuppressive effects of Escherichia coli O157:H7 experimental infection on the bovine host [PDF]
Background: Enterohaemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC), like E. coli O157:H7 are frequently detected in bovine faecal samples at slaughter. Cattle do not show clinical symptoms upon infection, but for humans the consequences after consuming contaminated ...

Multiple changes in HDL metabolism occur during infection and inflammation that could potentially impair the antiatherogenic functions of HDL. Scavenger receptor class B type I (SR-BI) promotes cholesterol efflux from peripheral cells and mediates ...

Confocal laser scanning microscope, raman microscopy and western blotting to evaluate inflammatory response after myocardial infarction [PDF]
Cardiac muscle necrosis is associated with inflammatory cascade that clears the infarct from dead cells and matrix debris, and then replaces the damaged tissue with scar, through three overlapping phases: the inflammatory phase, the proliferative phase

Phosphatidylserine Binding of Class B Scavenger Receptor Type I, a Phagocytosis Receptor of Testicular Sertoli Cells [PDF]
Testicular Sertoli cells phagocytose apoptotic spermatogenic cells in a manner depending on the membrane phospholipid phosphatidylserine (PS) expressed at the surface of the latter cell type. Our previous studies have indicated that class B scavenger receptor type I (SR-BI) is responsible for the PS-mediated phagocytosis by Sertoli cells.

Ionizable lipid nanoparticles target multiple pathological pathways in neurodegeneration. The designed self‐assembled materials undergo a pH‐triggered structural transformation from a cubosome/hexosome coexistence to a hexosome phase, enhancing intracellular delivery of a multi‐target phytochemical formulation. The antioxidant‐loaded pH‐responsive LNPs

New insights into the anti-inflammatory mechanisms of glucocorticoids : an emerging role for glucocorticoid-receptor-mediated transactivation [PDF]
Glucocorticoids are anti-inflammatory drugs that are widely used for the treatment of numerous (autoimmune) inflammatory diseases. They exert their actions by binding to the glucocorticoid receptor (GR), a member of the nuclear receptor family of ...

A versatile approach is presented for fabricating smart multifunctional textiles by integrating thermo‐fluorescent carbon dot/polymer nanocomposite coatings with 3D‐printed interlocked architectures. The fabrics exhibit temperature‐responsive fluorescence, durable hydrophobicity, strong antibacterial and antioxidant activity, and enhanced UV protection.

Role Analysis of the scarb1 Gene in the Pigmentation of Neocaridina denticulata sinensis
Body color is a key economic trait for Neocaridina denticulata sinensis, an important ornamental shrimp. Scarb1 may be an important mediator of astaxanthin uptake, changing the shrimp’s body color.
