Validated capillary electrophoresis method for the determination of atropine and scopolamine derivatives in pharmaceutical formulations

open access: yesJournal of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Analysis, 1998
The simultaneous determination of atropine and scopolamine derivatives, which have similar structures, was investigated by using capillary zone electrophoresis. The effects of buffer pH, buffer concentration and hydroxypropyl-beta-cyclodextrin concentration on migration time and resolution of the investigated compounds were systematically studied.

Colorimetric Determination of Atropine, Homatropine, Scopolamine, and Their Derivatives by the Ferric Hydroxamate Method

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1970
The purpose of this study was to develop a procedure for the quantitative analysis of the salts of the solanaceous alkaloids in the presence of their hydrolysis products. The salts taken were atropine sulfate, homatropine hydrobromide, homatropine methyl-bromide, scopolamine hydrobromide, and scopolamine methyl-bromide. The ferric hydroxamate procedure

Ameliorative effects of amide derivatives of 1,3,4-thiadiazoles on scopolamine induced cognitive dysfunction

European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 2016
The present study reports the effect of amide derivatives of 1,3,4-thiadizoles on scopolamine induced deficit cholinergic neurotransmission and oxidative stress serving as promising leads for the therapeutics of cognitive dysfunction. Fourteen compounds (2c-8d) have been synthesised and evaluated against behavioural alterations using step down passive ...

Neuroprotective effects of novel pyrrolidine-2-one derivatives on scopolamine-induced cognitive impairment in mice: Behavioral and biochemical analysis

Pharmacology Biochemistry and Behavior, 2023
Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a long-term neurodegenerative condition that impairs cognitive abilities. In brain acetylcholine deficit and oxidative stress may be considered the key pathogenic causes for AD, even though the basic etiology is still unknown.
