Abstract Vector‐borne diseases, such as malaria, are affected by the rapid urban growth and climate change in sub‐Saharan Africa (SSA). In this context, intra‐urban malaria risk maps act as a key decision‐making tool for targeting malaria control interventions, especially in resource‐limited settings.

Abstract African children are at risk of malaria and malnutrition. We quantified relationships between malaria and malnutrition among young Ugandan children in a high malaria transmission region. Data were used from a randomized controlled trial where Ugandan HIV‐unexposed (n = 393) and HIV‐exposed (n = 186) children were randomized to receive no ...

Aims Amodiaquine is a 4‐aminoquinoline used extensively for the treatment and prevention of malaria. Orally administered amodiaquine is largely converted to the active metabolite desethylamodiaquine. Amodiaquine can cause bradycardia, hypotension, and electrocardiograph QT interval prolongation, but the relationship of these changes to drug ...

Hitting malaria where it hurts: Pyrrolo[2,3‐d]pyrimidines have been designed as potential inhibitors targeting Plasmodium falciparum calcium‐dependent protein kinase 4 (PfCDPK4) using molecular modelling. Compounds displaying good binding interactions in silico were synthesised and assessed for inhibitory activity against PfCDPK4 and PfCDPK1, with ...

Near-term climate change impacts on sub-national malaria transmission [PDF]
The role of climate change on global malaria is often highlighted in World Health Organisation reports. We modelled a Zambian socio-environmental dataset from 2000 to 2016, against malaria trends and investigated the relationship of near-term ...
