CCL26‐Mediated Modulation of Endothelial Secretome by Hypoxia‐Induced Tumor‐Derived Exosomes Enhances Metastatic Progression in Head and Neck Cancer

open access: yesHead &Neck, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Tumor cells adapt to hypoxia by releasing hiTDExs enriched with bioactive molecules that modulate endothelial behavior and promote tumor progression. This study aimed to characterize how hypoxia‐induced HNSCC exosomes reshape the endothelial secretome and contribute to metastatic potential.

Method standardization of secretome production, collection, and characterization: New insights and challenges

open access: yesRegenerative Therapy
Stem cell transplantation remains at the centre of regenerative therapy. Recent, studies have demonstrated that the therapeutic effect of stem cells originates from paracrine reactions from cellular products (secretome) rather than direct cell ...

Metabolomic and lipidomic signatures of Helicobacter pylori infection: Unveiling biochemical pathways associated with neurodegeneration

open access: yesiMetaOmics, EarlyView.
Our study employed an integrated lipidomics and metabolomics approach to elucidate Helicobacter pylori‐driven metabolic perturbations along the gut–brain axis. H. pylori infection was established in gastric epithelial (AGS) cells, and the resulting conditioned media (secretome) was collected and exposed to neuronal (IMR‐32) cells.

Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors Induce Intestinal Epithelial Injury and a Senescence‐Like Phenotype

open access: yesiNew Medicine, EarlyView.
ICI treatment promotes the infiltration of activated immune cells into the intestinal mucosa. This inflammatory microenvironment is associated with significant epithelial injury, characterized by the disruption of the epithelial barrier, the depletion of specialized secretory cell lineages, and the induction of a premature senescence phenotype ...

Growth Factor-Primed WJ-MSC Secretome Enhances Fibroblast Expansion In Vitro

open access: yesBiomedicines
Background: In regenerative medicine, there is interest in using acellular therapy based on the secretome of mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) to promote wound healing. Wharton’s jelly cells (WJ-MSCs) are a readily available source.

Engineering exosomal cargo loading via endogenous molecular pathways: Strategies to enhance therapeutic potential

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
This review illustrates how scientists engineer exosomes by hijacking the cell's own cargo‐sorting machinery. These strategies efficiently load therapeutic molecules into natural vesicles, creating powerful next‐generation drug delivery systems (Created with BioGDP.com).

Immunomodulation of the Prostate Tumor Microenvironment Following Inorganic Arsenic Exposure

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The tumor microenvironment (TME) influences prostate cancer (PCa) progression through stromal and immune interactions. Adipose‐derived mesenchymal stromal cells (ASCs) modulate immune tone, while inorganic arsenic (iAs), a widespread toxicant, is linked to immune suppression and carcinogenesis.

Golgi Apparatus‐Associated Secretome Deciphering in Living Cells Enabled by Aggregation‐Induced Emission Luminogen‐Mediated Photocatalytic Proximity Labeling

open access: yesAggregate
Golgi apparatus (GA)‐associated secretome runs through the endomembrane system and is critical for inter‐ and intracellular communication networks. However, achieving in situ dissection of the GA‐associated secretome remains challenging owing to the ...

Gelatin sponge scaffolds loaded with adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cell secretome enhance full-thickness skin wound healing in rats

open access: yesSocial Determinants of Health
Background: Skin wounds that are full-thickness present a major clinical problem. Although cell-based treatments have limitations, the secretome of adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (ADMSCs) stimulates recovery through paracrine signaling.

Data‐Independent Acquisition Mass Spectrometry in Tumor Classification and Cancer Biomarker Research

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.
Abstract Cancer treatment is far from optimal also because current classification systems do not reflect the complex molecular status of the tumor and its phenotype in sufficient detail. To construct molecular tumor classifiers, omics tools provide complex molecular data reflecting many aspects from genotype to phenotype.
