Tissue Damage in Rheumatoid Arthritis Is Genetically Linked to Low Peptidylglycine Alpha‐Amidating Monooxygenase Activity in Synovial Fibroblasts

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, Volume 78, Issue 9, Page 1837-1849, September 2026.
Objective Both susceptibility to, and severity of, rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is associated with the rs26232 C allele. Our primary aim was to identify the biologic mechanism underlying this association. Methods Expression of surrounding genes was compared among rs26232 genotypes.

UTMD Suppresses CSF‐1 to Drive Macrophage‐Mediated Ferroptosis in Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT The tumor microenvironment (TME) of Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma (PTC), particularly the role of tumor‐associated macrophages (TAMs), contributes to therapeutic resistance. This study investigated whether ultrasound‐targeted microbubble destruction (UTMD), a non‐invasive physical modality, could reprogram the TME through modulation of TAMs and ...

Chronic Paraquat Neurotoxicity and Dopaminergic Degeneration: A Mechanistic Review

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 9, September 2026.
Occurrence of Parkinson's disease (PD) based on several neurotoxins. Advanced and comprehensive mechanisms based on Paraquat‐induced PD. Mechanism of oxidative stress, ROS and RNS formation, and death of dopaminergic neurons. The modulation of genes and proteins by paraquat leads to Parkinsonism.

Rapid normal fibroblast‐tumor crosstalk promotes cancer‐associated fibroblast‐like activation and attenuates mitomycin C cytotoxicity in bladder cancer

open access: yesJournal of Cell Communication and Signaling, Volume 20, Issue 3, September 2026.
Normal bladder fibroblasts rapidly engage in bidirectional crosstalk with bladder cancer cells, acquiring cancer‐associated fibroblast‐like activation features while promoting wound closure, epithelial‐mesenchymal transition‐like cadherin remodeling, and reduced mitomycin C‐induced cytotoxicity.

Mechanobiological feedback loops and quantitative decision thresholds in organ fibrosis: Translational principles for antifibrotic therapy

open access: yesJournal of Cell Communication and Signaling, Volume 20, Issue 3, September 2026.
Multiorgan fibrosis arises when chronic injury activates fibroblasts and remodels extracellular matrix, whose increasing stiffness sustains disease through mechanotransduction pathways. Bidirectional cellular‐matrix feedback operates across lung, heart, liver, and kidney.
