Identification of a Soluble Form Phospholipase A2Receptor as a Circulating Endogenous Inhibitor for Secretory Phospholipase A2 [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 2002
Venomous snakes have various types of phospholipase A(2) inhibitory proteins (PLIs) in their circulatory system to protect them from attack by their own phospholipase A(2)s (PLA(2)s). Here we show the first evidence for the existence of circulating PLI against secretory PLA(2)s (sPLA(2)s) in mammals.

Clinical and biological role of secretory phospholipase A2 in acute respiratory distress syndrome infants [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Introduction: Secretory phospholipase A2 is supposed to play a role in acute lung injury but no data are available for pediatric acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).

Inhibitory Effect of Three Diketopiperazines from Marine-derived Bacteria on Secretory Group IIA Phospholipase A2

open access: yesNatural Product Communications, 2016
Diketopiperazines, natural products found in bacteria, fungi, marine sponges, gorgonian and red algae, are cyclic dipeptides possessing relatively simple and rigid structures with chiral nature and various side chains.

Syndecan-4 mediates macrophage uptake of group V secretory phospholipase A2-modified LDL*

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2009
We previously reported that LDL modified by group V secretory phospholipase A2 (GV-LDL) promotes macrophage foam cell formation through a mechanism independent of scavenger receptors SR-A and CD36, and dependent on cellular proteoglycans.

Therapeutic Applications of Stimuli‐Based Release and Engineering of Extracellular Vesicles

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, Volume 6, Issue 8, August 2026.
This review summarizes the effects of endogenous and exogenous stimuli, their effects on the natural release of extracellular vesicles, as well as their uptake and release. It also gives an overview of stimuli‐responsive EVs and their therapeutic applications. Extracellular vesicles (EVs), nano‐ to microsized lipid bilayer membrane‐bound particles, are

Functional coupling between secretory phospholipase A2 and cyclooxygenase-2 and its regulation by cytosolic group IV phospholipase A2 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
Secretory phospholipase A2 (sPLA2) is the major effector involved in arachidonic acid (AA) mobilization and prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) production during stimulation of P388D1 macrophages with the inflammatory stimuli bacterial lipopolysaccharide and ...
