Diel pattern of circadian clock and storage protein gene expression in leaves and during seed filling in cowpea (Vigna unguiculata) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Background Cowpea (Vigna unguiculata) is an important source of protein supply for animal and human nutrition. The major storage globulins VICILIN and LEGUMIN (LEG) are synthesized from several genes including LEGA, LEGB, LEGJ and CVC (CONVICILIN).

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Integrated transcriptomic and proteomic characterization of a chromosome segment substitution line reveals a new regulatory network controlling the seed storage profile of soybean

open access: yesFood and Energy Security, 2022
Soybean is a major crop that provides oil and protein worldwide. Soybean products have been consumed for centuries in many different kinds of food. The regulatory network that controls the accumulation of fatty acids (FAs) and storage proteins (SSPs) in ...

The effect of feed composition on the sensory quality of organic rainbow trout during ice storage [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The aim of this work was to study whether the type of protein and lipid source in feed for organic Rainbow trout (Onchorhynchus mykiss) influenced the sensory quality.

Seed storage protein variation in Arachis species [PDF]

open access: yesGenome, 1994
Seventy-two accessions, representing 22 species from sections Arachis, Erectoides, Extranervosae, and Triseminalae of the genus Arachis, were screened for seed storage protein polymorphism. Variation was detected between sections, between genome types, between species, and in some cases between different accessions of the same species or different ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

The Physiological and Nutritional Content Changes of Jelutung (Dyera Polyphylla (Miq.) Steenis) Seed Through Drying and Storage [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Seed deterioration is the process of deteriorated seed in view of viability that has changed its physiological and nutritional content. This paper studies the effect of seed drying and seed storage to the viability and biochemical content of jelutung ...

The O-carbamoyl-transferase albis is responsible for the modification of albicidin [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Albicidin is a potent antibiotic and phytotoxin produced by the sugarcane pathogenic bacterium Xanthomonas albilineans which targets the plant and bacterial DNA gyrase.[1] The infection occurs through the xylem vessels of the plants where the pathogen ...

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.
