Biochemical and structural characterization of chlorite dismutase enzyme from Pseudomonas aeruginosa
Chlorite dismutase (Cld) is a heme b oxidoreductase that can decompose chlorite (ClO2−$$ {\mathrm{ClO}}_2^{-} $$ or OClO−) into harmless chloride (Cl−) and dioxygen (O2) with high turnover rates. Cld was found to be involved in different biological processes, and the rare reaction it catalyzes makes it a prominent enzyme for different applications. The

NrdR in Streptococcus and Listeria spp. regulates the expression of ribonucleotide reductase genes, which produce DNA building blocks. We show that NrdR binds DNA in an ATP/dATP‐dependent manner, and that optimal binding requires an integer number of DNA helix turns between NrdR boxes, with atypically long spacers in Streptococcus pneumoniae.

Summary Alternative splicing is essential for plants, enabling a single gene to produce multiple transcript variants to boost functional diversity and fine‐tune responses to environmental and developmental cues. Arabidopsis thaliana At‐RS31, a plant‐specific splicing factor in the Serine/Arginine‐rich (SR) protein family, responds to light and the ...

Summary Enhanced grain yield and quality traits are everlasting breeding goals. It is therefore of great significance to uncover more genetic resources associated with these two important agronomic traits. Plant MYB family transcription factors play important regulatory roles in diverse biological processes. However, studies on genetic functions of MYB
