Impact of DNA methylation-inhibition stress on barley (Hordeum Vulgare L.) seed germination: cytophysiological and molecular assessment

open access: yesAll Life
DNA methylation is an epigenetic mechanism regulating plant development and stress responses. This study evaluates how DNA methylation inhibition affects the phenotype, methylome, and transcriptome during early germination of barley (Hordeum vulgare L.).

Exploring bi-carbazole-linked triazoles as inhibitors of prolyl endo peptidase via integrated in vitro and in silico study

open access: yesScientific Reports
A serine protease called prolyl endopeptidase (PEP) hydrolyses the peptide bonds on the carboxy side of the proline ring. The excessive PEP expression in brain results in neurodegenerative illnesses like dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and Parkinson's ...

A genomic approach to the study of Tribolium castaneum genetics, development & evolution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
During the last decade, Tribolium castaneum has become the insect of choice for comparative genetics and developmental studies outside of drosophilids. Until recently, most molecular studies have focused on the comparative analysis of early development ...

Activation and enzymatic characterization of recombinant human kallikrein 8 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Human kallikrein 8 (hK8), whose gene was originally cloned as the human ortholog of a mouse brain protease, is known to be associated with diseases such as ovarian cancer and Alzheimer's disease.

Purification and characterization of endopeptidase H2, a kinin inactivating serine proteinase (kininase) from human urine.

open access: yesBrazilian journal of medical and biological research = Revista brasileira de pesquisas medicas e biologica, 1993
1. A kinin-inactivating chymotrypsin-like serine-endopeptidase was purified 202-fold from human urine by DEAE-cellulose chromatography, gel filtration, DEAE/HPLC chromatography and affinity chromatography. It hydrolyzed bradykinin at the Phe5-Ser6 peptide bond at a rate of 1.090 mumol min-1 mg protein-1 at pH 8.0 and 37 degrees C.
