An Activity‐Dependent NEPAS–PTX3 Axis Links Neurovascular and Myelin Deficits to Cognitive Impairment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An activity‐dependent pathway links prefrontal circuit hypoactivity to cognitive impairment. Reduced PVA–mPFC activity upregulates NEPAS, which suppresses PTX3 secretion, leading to impaired angiogenesis, myelin deficits, and memory decline. Rescue is achieved by NEPAS knockdown or chemogenetic circuit activation.

Sex hormones and cancer.

open access: yes, 1992
There are few instances in which a clear effect of hormones on cancer risk is known and in which the effects of those hormones on the cells concerned are also known. The best examples are the relationships between sex hormones and cancer in women.

Sex Hormones and Anticancer Immunity.

open access: yes, 2019
The impact of sex hormones on anticancer immunity deserves attention due to the importance of the immune system in cancer therapy and the recognition of sex differences in immunity.

Amuc_1473 Links Gut Microbes to Skeletal Homeostasis and Counteracts Multifactorial Osteoporosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Amuc_1473, a previously uncharacterized protein enriched in Akkermansia muciniphila‐derived extracellular vesicles, is identified as a gut–bone messenger that promotes osteogenesis and inhibits osteoclastogenesis by engaging transcriptional and translational regulators in bone cells.

Causal relationship between inflammatory bowel disease and sex: a Mendelian randomization study

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology
ObjectiveThe aim of this study was to investigate the bidirectional causal relationship between sex hormones and IBD through a two-sample bidirectional Mendelian randomization (MR) study.MethodsBased on Genome-Wide Association Study (GWAS) pooled data on

The Trichinella Super‐Pangenome Reveals the Evolution of Encapsulation and Predicted Host–Parasite Protein Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The muscle capsule of Trichinella is a critical structure that impedes immune attacks and drug penetration, yet the molecular mechanisms underlying its formation remain poorly understood. Using a high‐quality super‐pangenome comprising 12 Trichinella species, we compared extensive genomic variations between encapsulating and non‐encapsulating ...

Sex-related difference in food-anticipatory activity of mice

open access: yes, 2015
The expression of food-anticipatory activity (FAA) is induced by restricted feeding (RF), and its entrainment requires food-entrainable oscillators, the neuroanatomical basis of which is currently unclear.

Schooling Trajectories and the Development of Brain Dynamics: A Comparative Study of Montessori and Traditional Education

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We investigate whether Montessori and traditional schooling systems shape the developmental trajectory of large‐scale brain dynamics in different ways. We quantify the arrow of time (“non‐reversibility”) in neural activity during resting state and movie‐watching, revealing distinct maturational patterns.
