Pathway-based screening strategy for multitarget inhibitors of diverse proteins in metabolic pathways. [PDF]
Many virtual screening methods have been developed for identifying single-target inhibitors based on the strategy of "one-disease, one-target, one-drug".

Biosynthesis of α-Tocopherol and Plastoquinone-9 in spinach chloroplasts [PDF]
Prenylation and methylation reaction in al biosynthesis is localized in the envelope membranes of the chloroplasts, while PQ-9 biosynthesis takes place in the envelope membranes and also in the thylakoid membranes.

Thirty years of glyphosate‐resistant crops and weeds: Current situation and future prospects
Since 1996, when the first glyphosate‐resistant crop was commercialized and the first resistant weed was reported, resistance has expanded globally. This review analyzes emergence patterns across weed species, crops, regions, resistance mechanisms, and herbicides.

Engineering 2-Pyrone-4,6-Dicarboxylic Acid Production Reveals Metabolic Plasticity of Poplar. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Woody biomass is a promising source of fermentable sugars for biofuels and bio‐based chemicals, but its industrial use is limited by the costly biorefinery process. A viable strategy to reduce costs involves enhancing both biomass processability and the generation of high‐value co‐products.

Shikimate pathway disruption in yeast induces metabolite self‐assembly into toxic aggregates
In Saccharomyces cerevisiae, shikimate pathway disruption induces toxic metabolite assemblies. Deleting ARO4 plus phenylalanine (Phe) feeding causes Phenylalanine accumulation, lowers ARO3 activity, and triggers amyloid‐like fibril formation. Deleting ARO3 plus tyrosine (Tyr) feeding leads to Tyrosine buildup and similar fibril assembly.

The multidimensional regulation roles and mechanisms of calcium in fruit quality
This review explores how calcium signaling molecule integrates plant hormones, environmental cues, and developmental signals to influence external fruit traits, internal nutritional properties, and physiological disorders. ABSTRACT Calcium (Ca2+), a dual‐functional mineral that serves both as an essential structural factor and a signaling molecule ...

The acanthamoeba shikimate pathway has a unique molecular arrangement and is essential for aromatic amino acid biosynthesis [PDF]
The shikimate pathway is the only known biosynthetic route for de novo synthesis of aromatic compounds. It is described as an ancient eukaryotic innovation that has been retained in a subset of eukaryotes, replaced in plants through the acquisition of ...

Summary In plants, multiple cell types contribute to immunity, but what division of labor exists among cell types when immunity is activated? We compared, at single‐cell resolution, the response of Arabidopsis thaliana leaf cells during pattern‐triggered and effector‐triggered immunity (PTI/ETI), sampled at 3 and 5 h after infection with Pseudomonas ...
