Stereoselective α-Sialylation with Sialyl Pentenoates as Donors and PhSeOTf as the Activator [PDF]
-bromophenyl phthalates, and sialyl phthalates were not satisfactory. Fortunately, how-ever, we were able to achieve the stereoselective α-sialylation employing the glycosyl pentenoates/PhSeOTf method, which also we introduced previously for the stereoselective β-manno-sylation and other glycosylations.

ABSTRACT Monoclonal antibody (mAb) glycosylation is a critical quality attribute that is difficult to rationally engineer and rapidly assess during cell line development. Here, we investigate whether cell‐surface glycosylation can serve as a surrogate readout of mAb product glycosylation following targeted glycogene engineering in CHO cells.

Sialic acids are fascinating negatively charged nine-carbon monosaccharides. Sialic acid-containing glycans and glycoconjugates are structurally diverse, functionally important, and synthetically challenging molecules. We have developed highly efficient chemoenzymatic strategies that combine the power of chemical synthesis and enzyme catalysis to make ...

Hepatic sialic acid synthesis modulates glucose homeostasis in both liver and skeletal muscle
Objective: Sialic acid is a terminal monosaccharide of glycans in glycoproteins and glycolipids, and its derivation from glucose is regulated by the rate-limiting enzyme UDP-GlcNAc 2-epimerase/ManNAc kinase (GNE).

Abstract Objective To investigate the role of ST3 β‐galactoside α‐2,3‐sialyltransferase 1 (ST3Gal1) and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGF‐R2) in endometrioid‐type epithelial ovarian cancer (E‐OC) because aberrant α2,3‐sialylation mediated by ST3Gal1 and VEGF‐R2‐related angiogenesis is linked with tumor progression. Methods ST3Gal1 and

The role of sialylation in gynecologic cancers
Sialic acids (SA) are a kind of nine-carbon backbone sugars, serving as important molecules in cell-to-cell or cell-to-extra-cellular matrix interaction mediated by either O-linked glycosylation or N-linked glycosylation to attach the terminal end of glycans, glycoproteins, and glycolipids.

Possible role of sialylation of retinal protein glycans in the regulation of electroretinogram response in mice [PDF]
AIM: To evaluate if the nature, degree and extent of Siaα2-3-/Siaα2-6-sialylation of retinal protein glycans plays a possible role in the development and regulation of electroretinogram response (ERG) in mice.
