ABSTRACT Coffin–Siris syndrome (CSS) (OMIM:614608) is a rare genetic disorder characterized by global developmental delay (GDD), speech impediment, coarse facial features, and hypoplastic or absent fifth fingernails/toenails. Genetic variants in the SMARCB1 gene are associated with CSS, benign tumors (schwannomas), and rhabdoid tumor predisposition ...

Enzymatic basis forn-glycan sialylation
Background: Specificity and enzymology of glycan sialylation is poorly understood, despite its importance in biological recognition. Results: ST6GAL1 structure was determined, and substrate binding was modeled to probe active site specificity. Conclusion:

Glycoengineering of Chinese Hamster ovary cell for modulating glycoprotein Nlinked sialylation [PDF]
Erythropoietin (EPO), a highly glycosylated protein was widely used in anemia of kidney failure. It has been confirmed that enhancing sialic content on EPO can prolong its circulatory half-life, improving EPO therapeutic efficacy.

ABSTRACT Type I collagen (Col‐I) is widely used in biomaterials and cell biology, yet the glycosignature of commercial Col‐I preparations remains poorly characterized. Here, we established an integrated lectin‐based workflow to profile the glycan landscape of commercially sourced bovine pepsin‐soluble Col‐I as supplied for biomaterial use.

Galectin‐4: A Novel Mediator of Human Intervertebral Disc Degeneration
Galectin‐4 correlates with intervertebral disc degeneration, independent of age, sex, or underlying pathology. Functionally, it activates NF‐κB signaling and induces pro‐inflammatory and matrix‐degrading responses, with stronger effects in nucleus pulposus cells, identifying it as a novel molecular player in disc degeneration.
