The lipid-modulating effect of berberine in hyperlipidemic ApoE−/− mice
IntroductionBerberine, a natural alkaloid from plants of the genus Coptis, shows significant lipid-lowering effects clinically. However, its exact mechanism in lipid metabolism is not fully understood.

Statistics of level spacing of geometric resonances in random binary composites
We study the statistics of level spacing of geometric resonances in the disordered binary networks. For a definite concentration $p$ within the interval $[0.2,0.7]$, numerical calculations indicate that the unfolded level spacing distribution $P(t)$ and ...

SSCG with Hershey-Kiss modulation profile using Dual Sigma-Delta modulators
This letter describes a spread spectrum clock generator (SSCG) circuit with the Hershey-Kiss modulation profile using two stacked sigma-delta modulators. The proposed Hershey-Kiss profile modulator generates various slopes to achieve non-linear modulation profile.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Structural properties of prokaryotic promoter regions correlate with functional features. [PDF]
The structural properties of the DNA molecule are known to play a critical role in transcription. In this paper, the structural profiles of promoter regions were studied within the context of their diversity and their function for eleven prokaryotic ...

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Feeding and Feedback in the Inner Kiloparsec of the Active Galaxy NGC2110 [PDF]
We present two-dimensional gaseous kinematics of the inner 1.1 x 1.6kpc^2 of the Seyfert 2 galaxy NGC2110, from optical spectra obtained with the GMOS integral field spectrograph on the Gemini South telescope at a spatial resolution of 100pc.
