Nature and Characteristics of a Voltage-Biased Varistor and its Embedded Transistor
An unorthodox approach for producing simple and yet practical transistors based on ceramic platforms is discussed in this paper. To achieve this, we modify the original nonlinear current-voltage (I-V) characteristics of a varistor by superimposing a ...

Signal Amplification in Living Cells: A Review of microRNA Detection and Imaging.
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a class of endogenous, non-coding RNAs with a typical length of 19-23 nucleotides. miRNAs regulate the expression of specific genes by binding to complementary regions of messenger RNA (mRNA), which represses mRNA translation or ...

We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Design of amplifying information metasurface for enhancing signal coverage
Traditional information metasurfaces can be used in wireless relay systems to control the propagation direction of electromagnetic waves due to their capability to control the amplitude and phase. However, owing to the lack of signal amplification ...

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve
