Helical configuration of single-stranded DNA
Journal of Theoretical Biology, 1969Abstract Luzzati, Mathis, Masson & Witz (1964) have recently discovered an intermediate form of DNA which may be a single-stranded DNA in helical form. Its linear mass density is one nucleotide per 3;-4 A and its radius of gyration, R s , is 68% of that of the double helix form, R d .

Quantitative Amplification of Single-Stranded DNA
2012Single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) intermediates play an important role in processes such as DNA replication and homologous recombination, DNA damage responses, and DNA repair. Using quantitative amplification of ssDNA (QAOS), ssDNA arising during various cellular processes in complex genomes can be quantified at numerous single-copy and repetitive loci. QAOS

Persistence Length of Single-Stranded DNA
Macromolecules, 1997The self-diffusion coefficient of a series of DNA fragments ranging from 280 to 5386 bases has been measured by fluorescence recovery after photobleaching after thermal denaturation in 8 M urea. The total persistence length p of single-stranded DNAs and its variation in ionic strength down to 10-3 M has been deduced.

Hybridization with Nanostructures of Single-Stranded DNA
Langmuir, 2005Nanostructures of single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) were produced within alkanethiol self-assembled monolayers using nanografting, an atomic force microscopy (AFM) based lithography technique. Next, variations of the fabrication parameters, such as the concentration of ssDNA or lines per frame, allowed for the regulation of the density of ssDNA molecules ...

Single Stranded DNA in Lymphocyte Chromosomes
Nature, 1967The distribution of single stranded DNA in lymphocytes has been examined by an immuno-fluorescence technique. Chromosomal genes seem to be active in these cells throughout the cell cycle.

Nanopore Unstacking of Single‐Stranded DNA Helices
Small, 2007Time to unwind: The force-induced unstacking of individual single-stranded homopolymeric DNA helices is demonstrated during their translocation through an -hemolysin protein nanopore by electrophoresis (see picture). The unstacking energy and sequence-specific cooperativity are inferred from an analysis of the translocation kinetics.

Electron microscopy of single-stranded DNA
Journal of Molecular Biology, 1970A method is described for the quantitative study of single-stranded DNA by electron microscopy. It permits the determination of the size of single-stranded DNA with sample standard deviations between 5 and 8%. Since 80 to 100% of the molecules in a given field are usually measurable, size distributions can also be obtained. The linear density of single-

Crosslinking of Single-Stranded DNA to Resins
2003Specific fragments of single-stranded DNA may be covalently immobilized to solid supports for various reasons. The support can be used as an affinity column for purifying DNA from a test sample, to detect viral or bacterial DNAs, or for antenatal diagnosis of genetic diseases such as sickle cell anemia using a sandwich hybridization method developed in

Conformational changes of single-stranded DNA
Journal of Molecular Biology, 1969Abstract The conformation of intact, essentially monodisperse, single-stranded T7 DNA was studied in solutions between 0.001 and 1 m -NaCl at neutral and alkaline pH and temperatures between 5 and 35 °C. Over-all shape is assessed by measurement of S 20,w 0 , and base stacking by absorbance at 260 mμ.
