SIRT1 and other sirtuins in metabolism [PDF]
Sirtuins such as SIRT1 are conserved protein NAD(+)-dependent deacylases and thus their function is intrinsically linked to cellular metabolism. Over the past two decades, accumulating evidence has indicated that sirtuins are not only important energy status sensors but also protect cells against metabolic stresses.

A nebulized nanoassembly alleviates radiation‐induced lung injury by reprogramming macrophages through coordinated ROS scavenging, NAD+ replenishment, and PPAR‐γ activation. Redox balance, mitochondrial homeostasis, and immune regulation are restored, revealing a microenvironment‐centered strategy for localized radioprotection.

SIRT1 destabilizes WRN protein. [PDF]
A, Flag-WRN alone or with SIRT1 was transfected into HEK293 cells. Cell lysates were subjected to SDS-PAGE and Western blotting with anti-WRN, anti-SIRT1 and anti-β-Actin antibodies. B, endogenous WRN protein level was decreased by SIRT1. Vector or SIRT1

In nephroblastoma, aberrant glycolysis drives lactate accumulation, which elevates histone H3K18 lactylation via p300. Lactylation of the PSRC1 promoter activates its transcription. PSRC1 competitively binds AKT, relieving PTEN‐mediated inhibition and triggering AKT/mTOR/HIF‐1α signaling.

Transposable Element–Driven PIEZO Mutation Enhances Locust Flight in Plateau Hypoxia
Why transposable elements (TEs) persisted or expanded in genomes remains a mystery. Using integrated analysis of TE macro‐ and microevolution in locusts, our results showed that thousands of TE insertions promoted widespread adaptive variation. Subfamilies of candidate adaptive TEs amplified and reshaped species‐level genomic architecture.
