Sirtuin-1 level and gene polymorphisms in multiple sclerosis
Background Sirtuin-1 (SIRT1) may affect multiple sclerosis (MS) disease. This study aimed to investigate the level of serum SIRT1, mRNA expression and genetic polymorphisms in Egyptian MS sufferers.

Dietary glutamine (Gln) supplementation increased the ATP levels and promoted cell proliferation in the rumen epithelium of feed‐restricted yaks. Besides, Gln inhibited ROS accumulation and reduced oxidative damage and apoptosis in the rumen epithelium of feed‐restricted yaks.

Myocardial ischemia–reperfusion (MI/R) injury is characterized by iron deposition and reactive oxygen species production, which can induce ferroptosis. Ferroptosis has also been proposed to promote cardiomyocyte death.

Cows with ketosis during the perinatal period often experience damage to the liver, a core metabolic organ, thereby exacerbating the disease's inherent vicious cycle. This study indicates that serum 3‐IAA concentrations were reduced in ketotic cows and show a significant negative correlation with hepatic TG content.

Sirtuin 1: A Target for Kidney Diseases
Sirtuin 1 (SIRT1) is an evolutionarily conserved NAD(+)-dependent histone deacetylase that is necessary for caloric restriction-related lifespan extension. SIRT1, as an intracellular energy sensor, detects the concentration of intracellular NAD(+) and uses this information to adapt cellular energy output to cellular energy requirements.

Sirtuin-1 in immunotherapy: A Janus-headed target [PDF]
Abstract Sirtuin-1 (Sirt1), a member of the NAD-dependent sirtuin family of histone/protein deacetylases (HDAC), is an important target for immunotherapy due to its role in deacetylating the transcription factors Foxp3 and thymic retinoid acid receptor related orphan receptor gamma (RORγt). Sirt1 inhibition can increase Foxp3 acetylation

The SARS‐CoV‐2 papain‐like protease (PLpro) is a medicinal chemistry target. Here we report mass spectrometry assays employing oligopeptide substrates based on the sequences of the viral polyproteins 1a/1ab and on an ISG15‐modified human protein, which enabled the identification of substrate‐selective PLpro inhibitors.

The role of the host—Neutrophil biology
Abstract Neutrophilic polymorphonuclear leukocytes (neutrophils) are myeloid cells packed with lysosomal granules (hence also called granulocytes) that contain a formidable antimicrobial arsenal. They are terminally differentiated cells that play a critical role in acute and chronic inflammation, as well as in the resolution of inflammation and wound ...
