Anatomy of an Oligourea Six-Helix Bundle

open access: yesJournal of the American Chemical Society, 2016
Non-natural synthetic oligomers that adopt well-defined secondary structures (i.e., foldamers) represent appealing components for the fabrication of bioinspired self-assembled architectures at the nanometer scale.

Prototyping Nanorod Control: A DNA Double Helix Sheathed Within a DNA Six-Helix Bundle

open access: yesChemistry and Biology, 2009
SummaryThe control of the structure of matter is a key goal of nanoscience. DNA is an exciting molecule for control because it forms programmable intermolecular interactions.

Evidence That the Transition of HIV-1 Gp41 Into a Six-Helix Bundle, Not the Bundle Configuration, Induces Membrane Fusion [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Cell Biology, 2000
Many viral fusion proteins exhibit a six-helix bundle as a core structure. HIV Env–induced fusion was studied to resolve whether membrane merger was due to the transition into the bundle configuration or occurred after bundle formation. Suboptimal temperature was used to arrest fusion at an intermediate stage.
